  1. After battery disconnection it is not unusual to need to reset the windows, at least on the Gen 1 machines, but I have not come across problems with the central locking.
  2. Did Halfords check your alternator output ?
  3. Sounds like very low voltage What does it measure now? Check the battery leads, especially if you removed the battery to charge it, they may be loose.
  4. Just be aware that with the Dolly, the rear valance will be closer to the ground than usual.
  5. Hello Geraint, Welcome to the Forum. There is an owner in Glasgow who has produced a Youtube video on this issue. I am desperately trying to remember his name ! He is also a member of this Forum. Have you looked in our video section, it may be posted there. I remember:- Cuttothechase. It may be helpful, maybe not.
  6. Hello Margaret, Welcome to the Forum. You cannot have your vehicle towed with the front wheels on the ground. Or any wheels if you have a 4 wheel drive. As you have a two wheel front drive the least you need is a tow vehicle with a Dolly; otherwise a flatbed wagon/trailer
  7. The rear lights cluster is larger than on the pre-facelift.
  8. Most Toyota main dealers will not work on grey import vehicles. However, if you give them the CORRECT part number often they will get that for you (at your risk).
  9. The largest external difference between Gen1 and Gen 1 facelift, as far as I am aware, is the rear light clusters. Do you have a photo of the rear ?
  10. Tanya Batteries, mail order, good service.
  11. Sounds like it is down by 2 cells.
  12. Yours should be the facelift model, if your model year is correct. The facelifted model has more rear lighting. Check DVLA for the year that yours was manufactured. There are differing opinions on the changeover date; my belief is September 2005.
  13. Sorry. I have a much older van and the rear seats have been removed.
  14. Should do, but must be a facelift model, otherwise if not facelift no.
  15. Sorry, I did not realise you had already removed the middle seats.
  16. I just want to reiterate the importance of what Paul has stated above. When buying a new battery it is essential you check the capacity and CCA. ALSO the size of the terminals, the polarity of the terminals, AND the location of the positive and negative terminals before purchase. It is even MORE important you check again before fitting the battery. Ignoring these essential checks can get very expensive. I also bought a new battery when the old one needed a really thorough charge. Am I disappointed ? Actually no, as I now always have a fully charged spare battery. ps. Gen 1 Alphies (probably not hybrids) like calcium batteries.
  17. Hello Ciaran, Welcome to the Forum. There are no meetings (yet) being arranged by the Club that I am aware of. Informal meetings can, of course, be arranged by members. Keep and eye on member locations and consider approaching them privately by Personal Message.
  18. How many grandchildren are you hoping to carry with ISOfix equipment ? Will grandchildren not be occupying the middle seats? Is your van a seven seater ? Are you considering front seats that are reversible ?
  19. I understand your engine will not start, but each time you try and start your (new) battery will lose it's charge very quickly (assuming it was fully charged when it was fitted) as the alternator will not maintain the charge. You need to ensure you keep charging, trickle is best, until you manage to get the engine running again.
  20. Hello Azizillo, Welcome to the Forum.
