This is Ldrego (Alphard Forum) showing his Cuttothechase (youtube) video using his Proscan Automotive OBD on his Alphard. I hope it is of use to members struggling to access the codes on your Hybrids, or other models for that matter.

Removing rear seat rails / bars
Rojie replied to Frances's topic in Toyota Alphard Camper Discussions
Hi Immy, Please tell us the colour of your seats. Perhaps, since you are willing to give them away, you could put them in the For Sale section at zero price. -
Should mirror DVD from the front head unit.
-
Just checked. They do. Thanks for preventing wasting my time how to switch them off.
-
I already have a two small rows of blue DRLs fitted low in the grill. They do work, my wife says so, but no idea where the switch is yet. So many things to discover, and enjoy.

Keep finding"extra things"
Rojie replied to starider's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Hi Chris, I haven't used the spaces in the sliding doors let, but did figure you need to be careful what you put in them. You can't get at the contents with the doors open. My main worry is to ensure nothing slips or is too wide (or sharp) and scratches a nice racing stripe down the side of my van. -
Removing rear seat rails / bars
Rojie replied to Frances's topic in Toyota Alphard Camper Discussions
Hi Immy, I believe the rails are the same distance apart as I checked very carefully some months ago. What I didn't check is whether the rails are the same. I imagine they are. Nor did I check whether the rail runners are the same. I imagine they are. I believe the single seat from the seven seater will fit, although I have the seat I have not tried to fit it. If you have the Captains seat with the footrest. That seat won't swivel. The seat rails in my seven seater have been cut (please don't ask where) and refitted to facilitate their removal at a later date. -
Thanks Chris, We must meet up in the New Year. I don't want, or need, anyone messing with my MAF, or EGR. I don't see myself as a 70 year old boy racer, listening to (and becoming annoyed by) turbo overboost relief valve crackle. It is very unusual, but if that type of mood overwhelms me I have a supercharged 4.2 V8 sitting outside just waiting to burble and whine. If I boot my Black Cat she flies ! Best regards Roger

Hi Shane, I have the earlier 3 litre V6 with a 5 speed Yours will have a 6 speed. These engines have plenty of torque. I doubt you will be disappointed. They are very refined, and quiet Hi Chris, you have my interest again? What is the cost to unlock Stage 1, Is it a simple remap ? Does it improve torque ? I'm just curious.

Hi Ian, Thanks for this. I have blue sidelights, which I don't really care for, and one has blown. I am told they are easy to fit. Do you agree ? I'll look into the options at Hid4U.

Alphard rear suspension
Rojie replied to starider's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Hi Starider, Should I be considering these as I have a 15mm thick Birch Ply rear conversion. I took out my 2 rear seats, not light, and added about 100kg. It is not the cost, fitting them would be the issue; although I do still have (limited) access to the shock towers inside the wheel arches. -
I have a few keys now, mostly electronic; however .. I have a physical / mechanical key, which I don't use, there is no battery in it (as I discovered after taking delivery) nor any 'gubbins'. Believe it or not, the key opens the drivers door and will operate correctly in the ignition. So how the car and key 'communicate' is a mystery to me. Of course, without any battery or gubbins in it, it does not operate any other functions. I also have the green service key, which I have never tried.

400 to 600, for a month, is ridiculous. Most of us pay less then 400 for the whole year, or is that what you mean ? If you go with transportation, consider directly to the MOT station. Slow progress, buy you are making progress. Wait until you drive it, you'll soon realise the hassle was worth it.

Hi Chris, I need to check this "dipping mirror" function. I have it on another car and it is hugely useful in helping me avoid kerbing the alloys. This feature is more useful, to me, than the self cleaning mirrors. I have my conversion done now, just waiting for the cushions which are being made in Exeter. After New Year I'll be playing with all the buttons and switches; and I have loads ! Getting used to the machine before we set off adventuring.

Great, but where from ?
-
Seems as though the series 10 is not there. Pity. I expect a lot of similarity with the later cars though. Great find Chris, Thanks.
-
I think I have the fancy mirrors too. With the current weather I'll soon find out. Did you say it needs the Sun to work? I'll have to wait until Spring then !

Hi Chris, Just a little credit to Ldrego. as I believe this comes from his Cuttothechase youtube channel. Thanks for including it in this thread.

The link needs to to be typed in to Google. The link does not work for me as a direct hyperlink. But did work as a search address. Thanks Chris.

That yellow lights seems to be a Brake warning light. ( ! ) Probably not the ABS though as that warning has a slightly different symbol (ABS) OK, there is some software called Techstream. Some say it's a free download; I believe you can rent it, daily, weekly, etc. Search for Toyota Techstream. It is the official diagnostic tool (but may not cover Alphies). I expect most codes are similar.

Hi Jeff, I feel sure the later models can be converted, but I haven't seen any yet. To be honest, I have not seen a late models on the road yet either. (But I live in "Sleepy Devon"). My opinion on this, and it is an opinion, is that there a so few post 2015 vehicles about (at the moment) that there is is no commercial market yet for the conversions. So no one is doing them. I suggest you phone the better convertors and ask them ! Which ones come to mind? There is a list on this Forum (somewhere). I can also anticipate that swivel seats in the middle row will be a problem on later models; until, that is, some enterprising company ..... I do not have a view on the Nissans. All newer vehicles are becoming ever more complex. Tapping into their systems could prove tricky for the unwary.

I don't have a hybrid and I can't suggest a suitable code reader. Cuttothechase on youtube, Ldrego in the Forum has a video where he is using an OBD machine. Drop him a PM he may be able to help suggesting which unit he has. I found it very interesting that low type pressure can trigger the VSC warning light. If there is an ABS fault (I'm not suggesting there is) the VSC will not operate. VSC will not operate under 1 5kph anyway. There is a note in my handbook (not in the Hybrid section) that states "When starting the engine or moving immediately after the engine has been started, a noise can be heard from the engine bay. This is simply the sound of an (VSC?) operation check and not a fault" My handbook also states "the condition of tyres can influence the (VSC) system greatly so check the tyres carefully". (Not explicitly stated but I assume this refers to tyre pressures too).
