  1. OK. Good. According to my manual, it is the last of the photo above. I have enlarged your photo and the fuse for the horn is the 6th from the right on the top row. Left of the EFI and left of the free space. It is marked HRZ HORN. So if it is a fuse, that's the one. Could be the horn. I don't even know where it is fitted. Sorry. Have you perhaps disturbed a wire. That's all the help I can offer you, I'm afraid. Good luck.
  2. Andrew, Hi, very interesting. I have just been reading Wynn's product description. Despite not believing everything I read, and being wary of marketing materials; it is an interesting product. I have not worked out the economy of this; is it cheaper than E5 ? Probably, just a hassle remembering to add it at each fill up. What is very interesting, is that Wynn's CLAIM it is OK for use in Direct Injection engines. Some Toyotas have direct injection. I know the 3litre V6 is multipoint injection; I believe the 2.4 L does too.
  3. I read the title again ! 3l V6. The reason I asked is that, I believe, the fuse boxes are different according to engine size ! OK, So I checked my handbook again and did find the horn fuse. According to my book it is in the large fuse box in the engine bay. (Whether 2.4 or 3 l I don't know ! It is the same fuse as used for the hazard lights, direction indicators (and horn). So should be easy to check if it has blown without knowing where it is. 20A. Fuse 7 (next to the engine computer fuse so be careful. Can you upload a photo (of the whole fuse box, lid off) to help me tell you which is fuse 7 ? I need to identify that my illustration is your fuse box. Fuse location may be marked "HAZ HORN". Hope this helps, good luck.
  4. What engine do you have ? I can't find the correct fuse in the owners manual. There are many, but none are identified explicitly for the horn. Other than the door, are there any other 'electrics; not working. Maybe we can identify the correct fuse that way.
  5. Hi Roadhiller, Is your machine a 3 litre (as Barry) or a 2.4 litre ? I ask as the fuse boxes are different !
  6. Just to clarify the above. IF you have the MZ G edition, or your machine is a seven seater, your seat rails will have a different spacing that most other Alphies. So if you do go down the 'change your seats' option you will need two single seats. The 'one and a half' seat (small bench seat) will not fit the MZ seat rails. It may be possible to exchange the bench seat chassis for the Captain seat chassis, or swap the swivel mechanisms over. I have not tried either, although I would not expect it to be achievable. I have two single seats, but have not fitted them yet, so even that might not be possible !
  7. Hi Eric, Is your Alphie an MZ version. I have an MZ version with leather Captains seats and foot rests. Unfortunately, the middle seats do not rotate, even with the footrests are removed. You can purchase swivel bases for the front seats, but the supplier (IOW) informed me that they do not fit the middle Captains seats. Silly suggestion time... is to change the middle seats. The swivel versions can can be obtained on ebay (or a breakers yard). Indeed there were (maybe still are) some dark ones for sale in this forum. I am working on a way of overcoming this issue but am keeping stum until (IF) I get it to work.
  8. Bit tight, but it's in ! Even room for lots of bits and pieces. Bet you are a Happy Chappy.
  9. Hello Chris, and welcome. This seems to be extremely useful information. I note you are in Exeter, quite close to me in fact. Being in possession of this kind of information makes me wonder whether you are in the vehicle trade, and whether you are able to work on customer vehicles. I hope my AFS works, otherwise I know where to look. THANKS again.
  10. Very useful info. Thank you.
  11. Link doesn't seem to work.
  12. Ah, I have the manual by JPNZ, if that's what you have; and I would recommend it to all owners of Alphie 2002 to 2008.
  13. This is a quote from stuartspencerautos on ebay. "Hi Roger Japanese imports manufactured after 2005 will all be ulez compliant regardless of engine size, my own is a 3.0 V6 and it doesn’t get charged. Regards Phill" May I respectfully suggest you contact him and enquire whether Phill can help you.
  14. Hi Monster, I have been in touch with my contact and he believes he will have some. How many ? Not known ! Where ? Not known ! But were are on it; sorry for the delay.
  15. Recently I had a disagreement regarding ULEZ compliance of Alphards. The official website states that my Alphie is not compliant. I took a Alphard dealer to task about it and he corrected me (and the website). Apparently he drives in and out of London regularly without any issues, charges, or penalty notices. How does this help you ? I will try and contact him again, if I can find our correspondence, and maybe he can offer a method that will take you forward.
  16. Where did you get your Alphard Workshop manual ?
  17. Try this. From the drivers side window key pad, fully lower each window one at a time and close it again. Move to next window and repeat. That should do it. If you have an electric moon roof you may need to do the same with that. Good Luck.
  18. John, is this the cause of your blown fuses ? Water in your tail lights sounds like a potential short circuit. Short circuits normally results in blown fuse(s). Focus on that leak before your MOT. How is the water getting in ? A hole to let water out is probably not all you need to do.
  19. My comments on your situation : You will need a very large soldering iron as the glass will act as a heat sink. Result, imho, glass could crack; even worst than no demister ! Rear demister is not part of MOT so leave it disconnected until after MOT; tape it with insulation tape. Question. Is superglue conductive? I don't know, but doubt it. A open circuit (detached wire) should not blow fuses as long as it isn't touching any other conducting surface (even If it is live). Putting an oversize fuse in, could, melt wire insulation on adjacent wires (in the loom) causing short circuits. You don't want this to happen, if it hasn't already. Top light is a brake light, not a rear light; so don't worry. I am not sure this has to work anyway, as you will have other brake lights that will need to work Permatex is an American product but is available on Amazon. I would not use this (if at all) until after your MOT. You need to focus on what is blowing the tail light fuse. I think, with respect, you need a local auto electrician, and, maybe, you need to talk with your MOT garage to remind yourself what needs to work properly, and what does not. Hope this helps with your thinking. Good luck.
  20. Magnum Motors of Farnborough have recently put up a video on youtube featuring a 2007 2.4 litre Alphard. In the commentary the host mentions that (not a quote) there should be no problems with the new fuel (E10).
  21. I believe this unit can be bought from the UK; hence no import charges and taxes (although I have a vague recollection goods from Japan are tariff free due t some trade agreement). An all in price. The unit seems to have all the features I would like, and MORE. A must for me is the rear camera; I'm not too fussy about the steering wheel controls. I would prefer to keep my front cameras too. I am not a mobile phone person and suspect I need one to operate this properly. Maybe of interest to people, I understand the EU is about to force all mobile phone suppliers (manufacturers) to use the same charging connector. Apple users please note.
  22. I am so glad you found the correct fuse box. I found the video helpful in so much as it showed me how to remove the lower glovebox. My car is a later model than yours, and I have twin rear fog lights installed in the rear valance in place of the standard reflectors. I suggest you check that both your rear lights are actually lights, and that the non functional one is not just a reflector. If you have the correct part number; Toyota Direct may be able to help you with the led. They may, even have it in stock. Similarly, if you have the part number (from the epc) any Toyota dealer may help you out. Good luck, nice to hear you are making progress. Well done.
  23. Cannot find these fasteners on any epc sheet. They should be on every sheet as all Alphards have seat runners. What model do you have? MNH, ANH, etc. trim level AS AX MS etc. Do you know whether they are screw fit or push and twist ?
  24. OK, we are making (slow) progress ! I found the clips on for my MH10 on the epc. 58595 Ivory. You need grey screws. The carpet page. No sign of the screw which is probably a "standard" Toyota part. I'll keep checking. Bfn
  25. I think you are talking about the plastic screws that hold the plastic caps in place at the end of each seat rail. They have a flat blade screw head. About a cm in diameter (with measuring). Am I correct. I could not find any part numbers in the epc ! I will check with my friend, but don't hold your breath; he tends to throw out all the smaller parts as otherwise he will lose them anyway. I'll bet they are a standard metric size (although the finish won't be). Does anyone reading this know the size ?
