So I think you have the seats that can be reversed. A one seat amd a one and a half judging by your comments re the lap belt. I didn't think the Gen 2 comes with 8 seats but wasn't sure myself! Lap belts are legal, but, imho, a bit iffy in an accident; but way better than no belt. You luck in making your decision. Happy Alpharding.

Hello Huw, I have a different model so cannot help you there, but .. Why didn't you check for ISOFIX child seat latches on this second visit ? Why didn't you ask the vendor ? So, will you have a Gen 1 or Gen 2 vehicle ? 2008 was the changeover year. I assume you have a Gen 1 version. My answer only refers to the Gen 1 vehicle. According to my copy of the JPNZ Owners Manual (every Gen 1 owner should have one) both the eight seater and the seven seater have ISOFIX child seat latches. However, it appears that only the outer middle seats have the latches in the eight seater. You really need to physically check the vehicle you hope to purchase Take an ISOFIX child seat with you and observe it being fitted in all three middle seats. Good Luck.

Sounds like it was time for a new battery. If you leisure battery is charging, and retaining its charge; all seems as it should be. Batteries do not respond well to being heavily discharged.

I am hoping other members with 2.4 Litre engines will advise on what capacity batteries they have fitted. At 45 A/hr and 330 CCA, this battery may be a little too small, capacity wise, during the winter months. Be sure to keep it fully charged; with additional charging from a smart charger if you only make short journeys. Why are you replacing the battery ?

Hi Adrian, Welcome to the Forum. How would we know if the 'mileage' is correct? To export the cars through auction the 'mileage' will be recorded on the Japanese auction sheet ( so make sure you obtain a copy before payment is made). If the 'mileage' has been altered before that !!! I believe you can purchase a report from Carvx; but whether that would detect the fraud I don't know. After importation to the UK, and before registration with the DVLA (when converting from kilometres to miles, on earlier models at least), there was also an opportunity for 'deliberate mistakes'. Whether the same is true of the Gen 2 machines I don't know.

Your model is the Gen 1, pre-face lift version. Mine is the post face lift version. The JPNZ Owners Handbook definitely states fuse 10 in the fuse box by the drivers seat. Does the fuse box you have have 10 fuses, no more ? My model is an MZ G Edition; so your seats are probably not the same as mine. I'm sorry I cannot help further.

Hello again, IMHO, carrying a cycle rack is not towing. Towing, by my definition, would involve a trailer of some sort (with al least one wheel on the ground). The additional weight (on the rear axle) will (probably) be less than carrying passengers in the rear seats. Ask you insurance company, or a Broker if you don't wish to involve your insurance company. Or call the Police in your area and, anonymously ask them !

As Drew12 said That's fuse 10 in the box by the driver's seat.

Hello Angie, Welcome to the Forum. First thing to do is ensure (before ordering) your new battery that it has the terminals in the correct positions AND the correct polarity of those positions. Otherwise, the leads won't reach, or worse ..... Failure to do this will result in the 120A fuse blowing. Not good news. Most batteries have different sized terminals for the connections; but mistakes do happen ! I can recommend Tanya Batteries, who provide an excellent mail order service. They can specify which battery you have fitted in your van. Next, the physical size needs to be correct, plus or minus a small amount. You can make an approximate measurement while the 'old' battery is still in the van. Next is the battery capacity in Amp per hours. You need the same or slightly larger than you already have. 65 A/hr, probably Then you need to check the CCA, the Cold Cranking Amps. This is the ability to start a cold engine Again you need the same, or slightly larger than you already have. Ignition must be OFF. When changing your battery, disconnect the negative first, positive second. Reconnect in the reverse order, positive then negative. Don't be surprised if there is a small spark as not all circuits are switched off by the ignition. And, finally, you will probably need to reset your electric windows and maybe the moon roof, if you have one. Halfords or Kwik Fit should be able to do all this for you, or any reasonable mechanic. Just take care and all will be quite straightforward. Good Luck

I have an earlier model. On my model (a 7 seater) the rear seats and the middle seats use the same runners. Does yours use the same runners ?

You say windows. Do you mean both nearside widows, or just the front passenger window ? The front passenger window is reset from the passenger door; not the drivers door switch cluster.

I agree with Charlie. There are situations where 'penny pinching' is low risk. Fluids in a vehicle, ihmo, is not one of them. According to the JPNZ manual "5 to 20w should give better mileage". (In the Japanese climate).

Recommendations are OK (provided you have no personal or financial interest in the business or company). But no outright advertising, billboards, photos of premises, etc. That is what the Club is all about really.

The rear seats are not, imho, designed for long distance; but a smaller child should be OK. Maybe you should be thinking of an 8 seater, if one is available. But I don't think they are for the Gen 2 vehicles.

Hello Peter, Welcome to the Forum. I have an earlier model, but I think your family will find the all seats and facilities quite marvellous.

Make sure you have your room / mood lights off. Just be aware that there will be residual current drain even with the ignition off. Check the condition of your battery terminals, and battery connections. All owners need to ensure their batteries are, and remain, fully charged. Don't just assume they are.
