  1. Hello Saleash, Welcome to the Forum.
  2. Hello Tony, Welcome to the Forum. Are you referring to High Beam or Low Beam ? Can you add a photo, as there are more than one type of bulb fitted. High Beam Halogen (H4, 60w/55w) or Discharge (HB3, 60w). Low Beam With AFS D2R, 35W Without AFS D2S, 51W I hope this is a helpful starting point.
  3. Hello Alphy, Welcome to the Forum. So sorry to read your 'Tale of Woe'. Hopefully, you will get some quick and helpful replies. If not, within a few days, I will refer this to one of our learned members who may be able to help you
  4. No surprise to me. Their quotes seem to vary enormously ! There is a thread on this Forum for Insurance, where many owners disclose their Insurers and Premiums Search for it. Generally, you should be looking at 300 to 400 pounds.
  5. Hello Monty, Welcome to the Forum
  6. Hello Yuma, Welcome to the Forum. As MonsterS says, in this thread, you can't.
  7. Hello Martin, Welcome to the Forum
  8. Moved to Sales Section
  9. I have a Gen 1 facelift; not the same as yours. On the Gen 1 the seat rails are different between the 7 and 8 seaters. I cannot tell from you photos. If the distance between the rails is exactly equal on both seats, you should be OK. If they are different, you will need to change the seat rail of the inner one under the 'bench' seat. My guess is you have five seats rails. The 7 seater has only four. These four rails are shared with the rearmost seats too. I suggest you examine a 7 seater first. It is doable; but not quite as straight forward as might appear at first. Good Luck
  10. Hi Kate, Did you ensure the battery was fully charged before you fitted it ? Did you fit the battery personally, or have a garage do it ? Any sparking of the battery leads when it was connected ?
  11. Have you searched this Forum for Ben Hau ? The search box is at the top right on your home page.
  12. Hi Patricia, Unfortunately, not the same as mine. A trip to Romahome (North Star at Cowes) be be helpful. They must have encountered these issues.
  13. Thank you Liz for the clarification.
  14. I was with Aviva until I had a conversion. Then they declined !
  15. I am no expert, but I think the DVLA would disagree. However, if the odometer were faulty .....
  16. Silly, isn't it ? Alphards and Vellfires are the same vehicle, almost. Of course, Gen 1 and Gen 2 are different; but not that much, other than value. I think it is the JDM bit that confuses most.
  17. Can you post a photo of your key. There are more than one type. I suggest you need a specialist auto locksmith. You could try RomaHome in Ryde (or is it Cowes). They may know a suitable local auto locksmith/supplier. It won't be cheap. 80 to 120 pounds, or so. The auto locksmith I used, a local (to me) guy, made all my keys to masters; but you must have a master to start with ! The blank keys are available on ebay and include the immobiliser chip. Not sure about the Gen 1 which you have; but the Gen 1 facelift needs the 4D67 chip in the key blank. Blanks are usually less than 20 pounds.
  18. I believe that if you use a 'chip' to convert the km reading to miles there is an opportunity to 'clock' (reduce) the reading. It is important to review the auction sheet prior to purchase, as that certificate states the kilometres travelled prior to export. There is, of course, additional travel after export; potentially from UK dock delivery to wherever (although many are trucked); and this should be considered. My Alphie was clocked but, fortunately, only by a small amount. Potential buyers should be aware there are 'Specialist Alphard Dealers' and 'Dealers who deal in Alphards' Generally, there is a difference in quality and service provided by each of these categories. Having a new 'chip' fitted (at any time) is an option for Peter and Liz; assuming there is no other cause. This could be an inexpensive repair solution that any reputable Specialist Alphard Dealer could perform for you. To be clear, absolutely clear, I am not suggesting, or promoting, 'clocking'.
  19. Hi Kully, There is a major thread on this Forum where members disclose their Insurance Company and, in some cases, their premium. Try to search for Insurance in the search box at the top right of your home page.
  20. Small Forum ! With thousands of Members !
  21. Hello all, Just a gentle reminder to all members that the ULEZ Charge and Congestion Charge are not the same thing. ULEZ compliant vehicles will still need to pay the Congestion Charge (in Central London).
  22. Hi Nigel, Good luck with the Auto Covers. Please update us all when you can. I do not have a whole cover, just a screen cover (from Fuel Lagoon) which I would wholeheartedly recommend; but I do not use it in winter. I have a full cover for another vehicle which, if attached very carefully, does not rub the paintwork or get blown off in a gale. I actaully use it in the summer to prevent sun damage to paintwork and headlights. I am not, yet, aware of a custom fit weather proof cover for the Alphards, Gen 1 or Gen 2, or Vellfires.
  23. Hello Shane, Welcome to the Forum. Just to let you know, the 2.4 comes with a 4 speed auto. There is a Megathread on this forum where members have disclosed their consumption figures. Search for MegaThread in the search box on your home page.
  24. If members review this company on Trust Pilot, they will, almost certainly, agree with you.
  25. Hello Jacek, Welcome to the Forum. If your Alphie isn't undersealed you should be making that a priority.
