Back for a quick post!
Just thought I’d share the result of Northstar intervention on our Vellfire! Cannot tell you how happy we are… ADDC6540-C513-47BA-AD9F-39B9FA2A3AC3.MOV

It’s been fun!
And there we have it. One thing l learned in my 26 year military career was respect. In my current career role I work on a government project and I lecture in many things, quite a lot based around mental health and dealing with passive aggressives and the impact of perceptual bullying. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with 99% of the good folk on here. And you have no idea how happy I am now that I have made Rojie happy, it’s been a struggle, but we got there! I know what you’re thinking, you thought I’d left😆, I did, my wife was unaware and tends to pop in and out of here, she was just a little upset why we were so disliked on the forum (her perception, which she is entitled to), so I thought I’d just pop in for a final farewell. Thank you to those who put nice comments on here and thank you to all those who helped without talking down to us. Pretty sure I’ll be seeing some of you in the future, is someone waves at you with a look of expectant excitement, it’s probably us!

It’s been fun!
Can’t seem to find a way to leave the forum, which if this is the case leaves a distinctly dubious amount of members on here😂 time for me to go now, I’ve tried to help those I could, and I’ve made my feelings clear to a few I’ve chatted with. Wishing you all the best as a club and really hope this evolves into something special. Drive safe folks!

Discount codes for Alphard Club?
Feels like I need to ‘pre float’ ideas and let someone else reinforce them😂 This could be my main purpose on the site, the official pre floater……

Discount codes for Alphard Club?
I floated this notion some time ago, hopefully you’ll have mote luck!

Vellfire thermal window blinds
The tint we have in the back is pretty much total blackout, decide to let Northstar sort the curtains and front wrap out as part of the conversion. I’m not one for excitement, but it’s starting to rise, 3 weeks to go before she goes in!

Buying 2007 Alphard conversion
Oddcouple replied to Wozzer100uk's topic in Questions on Buying a Toyota Alphard or Vellfire in the UK.Should also have said, if you were buying without pop top, you’d be looking at another 3 or 4k on top of the conversion price…

Buying 2007 Alphard conversion
Oddcouple replied to Wozzer100uk's topic in Questions on Buying a Toyota Alphard or Vellfire in the UK.Price feels about right. And with a Northstar conversation you have a really well converted van. The conversion you have is about £9400 so I guess you could buy a van a little cheaper and then wait for conversion, but as you say, you don’t mind paying a bit over for a ‘ready to go’ van.

In-car Wi-Fi
No. There are different types of in car Wi-Fi available, some specific for vehicle, some as personal hotspots. The specific vehicle systems can have an internal or external antenna which is used to boost signal. As the units have a much larger antenna than a mobile phone, they will pick up stronger signals which you can then connect to, seems average is around 10 devices. There is a need for a data SIM which can be PAYG or contract, but it gives a much more stable platform to work from. Average 150mbps but can be much higher. Just unsure how our massive faraday cages like internal antennas, as high and open as possible would help, but possibly even locating in an open pop top? So many questions and only one brain to try to think of the answers 😆

Model type?
Lush van by the way, we’re hitting the ferry on 04th July for our conversion!

In-car Wi-Fi
Rojie, I just replied to you and somehow, don’t ask how, it’s ended up in a thread called Model type? I think I need to lie down….

In-car Wi-Fi
Yep, all good and understood, but if anyone has used any of the initial post, would really appreciate any form of feedback. Probably be off grid quite a lot and just trying to work out what works best. Really don’t want any external fixtures, so ideally if anyone has used one if the internal only systems would love to hear how they worked for you!

In-car Wi-Fi
Has anyone used any Wi-Fi/mifi in their motors? Would be interested to know how you got on. Better to get mobile broadband of go for a 12v plug in for auto?

Mega thread Alphard MPG!
I think it will break about even, that is until I throw everything else in the back!

Mega thread Alphard MPG!
Just wondering how much difference it has made with the back seats out, only have the 2 captains seats left in the back prior to conversion. Must be a chunk lighter…

First wave today!
Actually passed them again this afternoon, I thought….ooh, shall I……na

Mega thread Alphard MPG!
Right, I now have no idea how I managed to get the first figure…. Facts, 638km = 396 miles. Used 44l of E5 (9.67 gallons) so 6.9l/100km, 40.91 mpg?? I must be hitting errors here somewhere, head is now minced lol.if true, that’s ridiculous isn’t it??
-
Mega thread Alphard MPG!
I did come up with that figure at one point but dismissed it completely until I could find a figure that upset me. Surely not true is it?
-
Mega thread Alphard MPG!
So, first measured fuel consumption. Important to note that absolutely no consideration was given to how we drove, and this was a huge mix of town, country, motorway. 44l used to cover 638km, which I make 6.9l/100km or around 19mpg. There is a huge possibility I have worked this out wrong and would be more that grateful for someone to point out if I have! 2010 3.5 Vellfire, all miles on 2wd only.

First wave today!
Well, when I say first wave, I waved at someone who completely ignored me, if you have a white alphard in the Andover area, you’re dead to me….🤣
