  1. Feels like I need to ‘pre float’ ideas and let someone else reinforce them😂 This could be my main purpose on the site, the official pre floater……
  2. I floated this notion some time ago, hopefully you’ll have mote luck!
  3. The tint we have in the back is pretty much total blackout, decide to let Northstar sort the curtains and front wrap out as part of the conversion. I’m not one for excitement, but it’s starting to rise, 3 weeks to go before she goes in!
  4. Should also have said, if you were buying without pop top, you’d be looking at another 3 or 4k on top of the conversion price…
  5. Price feels about right. And with a Northstar conversation you have a really well converted van. The conversion you have is about £9400 so I guess you could buy a van a little cheaper and then wait for conversion, but as you say, you don’t mind paying a bit over for a ‘ready to go’ van.
  6. No. There are different types of in car Wi-Fi available, some specific for vehicle, some as personal hotspots. The specific vehicle systems can have an internal or external antenna which is used to boost signal. As the units have a much larger antenna than a mobile phone, they will pick up stronger signals which you can then connect to, seems average is around 10 devices. There is a need for a data SIM which can be PAYG or contract, but it gives a much more stable platform to work from. Average 150mbps but can be much higher. Just unsure how our massive faraday cages like internal antennas, as high and open as possible would help, but possibly even locating in an open pop top? So many questions and only one brain to try to think of the answers 😆
  7. Lush van by the way, we’re hitting the ferry on 04th July for our conversion!
  8. Rojie, I just replied to you and somehow, don’t ask how, it’s ended up in a thread called Model type? I think I need to lie down….
  9. Yep, all good and understood, but if anyone has used any of the initial post, would really appreciate any form of feedback. Probably be off grid quite a lot and just trying to work out what works best. Really don’t want any external fixtures, so ideally if anyone has used one if the internal only systems would love to hear how they worked for you!
  10. Has anyone used any Wi-Fi/mifi in their motors? Would be interested to know how you got on. Better to get mobile broadband of go for a 12v plug in for auto?
  11. I think it will break about even, that is until I throw everything else in the back!
  12. Just wondering how much difference it has made with the back seats out, only have the 2 captains seats left in the back prior to conversion. Must be a chunk lighter…
  13. Actually passed them again this afternoon, I thought….ooh, shall I……na
  14. Right, I now have no idea how I managed to get the first figure…. Facts, 638km = 396 miles. Used 44l of E5 (9.67 gallons) so 6.9l/100km, 40.91 mpg?? I must be hitting errors here somewhere, head is now minced lol.if true, that’s ridiculous isn’t it??
  15. I did come up with that figure at one point but dismissed it completely until I could find a figure that upset me. Surely not true is it?
  16. So, first measured fuel consumption. Important to note that absolutely no consideration was given to how we drove, and this was a huge mix of town, country, motorway. 44l used to cover 638km, which I make 6.9l/100km or around 19mpg. There is a huge possibility I have worked this out wrong and would be more that grateful for someone to point out if I have! 2010 3.5 Vellfire, all miles on 2wd only.
  17. Well, when I say first wave, I waved at someone who completely ignored me, if you have a white alphard in the Andover area, you’re dead to me….🤣
  18. And when not in use, fill with water and pop in the freezer….
  19. 18 inch, clearly not cleaned! Now have Michelin all season tyres on..
  20. As promised… 2AFF93A1-A9B3-4AB3-9A91-0C0AFD5733FF.MOV
  21. Whoever put it in has made a bit of an effort as they are wired in with the headlights..
  22. I have some lovely blue lighting in both footwells and in the back, will get pics soonest!
  23. I believe rear cat issues are more related to Elgrands where they have double ceramic cats, first cat has a tendency to break up, thereby blocking the rear. De coring is a common practice which many importers do as standard. Technically an MOT failure but can be done and clean weld on top side which can’t be seen.
