  1. We had a wee bit of bad news last week. Adrian, who was doing our conversion was let down last minute by the guys that make his cabinets. We feel gutted for him as he has now lost quite a bit if work because of this. He suggested we call Northstar on the Isle of Wight to see if they could help. After a 30 minute phone call on Thursday, we ended up on the ferry yesterday to visit. Carol walked us through the entire workshop, looking at every stage and type of conversion. Hugely impressive operation and so friendly. We then spent a bit of time going through way to many colour options for me to cope with (thankfully Mrs was on hand for such things) and ended up placing an order there and then. We drop off on 4th July and pick up on 23rd (we wanted a Saturday pick up), all ferry costs included in the price, really excited with what we now have coming. It’s a bit more than we were paying, but we’ve included a lot more on the conversion. On the road for summer!
  2. I’m running 235/50r18 101W, just feel that W is a bit much! Looking at putting all season tyres on, I have michalin cross climate on the car, they’ve been really good so might go for them. A couple of deals around where ‘Y’ ratings are even cheaper. I guess it’s where and when you look……
  3. Out of interest, what tyre speed rating do you all use. For some reason I have W 101 on at the minute, seems massive overkill to me……I get the weight, but W?
  4. Located in the South, sensible offers please!
  5. Yeh, sounds about right. We’ve not decided on pop top yet so it gives us a bit of space.
  6. Sure it will be brilliant!
  7. As far as I can make out it increases throttle response, almost as if you’ve pushed an extra inch without pushing an extra inch. It certainly makes it shift with a very light foot. Doesn’t actually increase speed or torque, just makes it a whole lot more responsive. Looks like 4 different modes from eco to sport which will change throttle response times. Looks as if it’s fitted somewhere in the loom, so really don’t want to drag it out. Might help with fuel consumption a little, but doesn’t seem to cause any harm.
  8. Been all over their site, lots of great info but as I said, no instructions on how to use it.
  9. Yep, got the info! Hopefully we’ll have it back after conversion in time to attend.
  10. So, I have this fitted and I have a rough idea of it’s purpose but unsure what I can actually do with it. There are buttons on there, but they don’t seem to do much, just numbers going up and down constantly . Tried to fine a manual but no luck. Anyone able to shed more light?
  11. For some reason the link won’t work for me, just says link broken and does nothing, I’ll try to find it using the details..cheers..
  12. I’m pretty sure this will receive some form of chastisement, however here’s a small clip of how to delete albums from the HDD if there’s stuff on there you’re not keen on. It is repetitive, I find this a good way to embed information, so in reality, you only need to watch about 30 seconds! Hope this helps someone, which is why we’re all here! IMG_0448.MOV
  13. That’s all I wanted to know. As a club we won’t be there as a group. Thank you. if anyone else is going, please let us know!
  14. As @Jellybeanhas mentioned in threads regarding the event on 9th July, is the club going as ‘a club’ ? Couldn’t see anything on the fairly large list of clubs that are going.
  15. Anyone else going to this? We’re going up on Saturday 14th for a mooch around.
  16. Ah, thanks for that. I never actually thought about the whole flat roof thing. Just goes to show the need for me to get advice 😆
  17. We had a play with the magnetic drive away kit today. The magnets really are not close be being useful without tie down. However once secure over the top gave a really nice seal
  18. Well, we’ve been here for a couple of weeks and are now proud to announce we have taken ownership today and here she is.
  19. Already all over it. On a couple of forums that have been really helpful. I’d just always prefer users experience over salesmen experience. We were in the VW scene for a long time and still have many contacts so no issues there. Thanks for the advice though!
  20. So just to clarify before I put this to bed, no one can help with this one? If I go ahead, I’ll certainly let you all know how I get on…
  21. Thanks for that, looking at my post again, I should have made it clearer when I said ‘handbook’. Read before you post!
  22. I’m keeping the head unit and getting apple car play/ android auto put on. That way I can still use maps if required and to be honest, just getting radio 2 is fine for us, it’s an age thing….. also be able to play an iPod through the head unit so no real issue for us.
  23. Hi there. We got a handbook from JPNZ Manuals. Have a search on Amazon. The Vellfire 2008-2011 is part number FRO3009, pretty sure the alphard one is available. Decent quality although the diagrams are a little small and difficult to see clearly. Regarding the head unit…….learn Japanese or download Google translate! Or depending on your head unit you can change it out completely. Hope this is almost all true and I’m sure if it’s not someone will correct me!
