Hi Rojie, Sorry for the delay in answering, I purchased the locking wheel nuts from:- sales@wheelpartsdirect.com and are a set of McGard 21156SL 12 x 1.5 FLAT 35mm Chrome Locking Wheel Nuts. You can buy cheaper ones, but the quality of these are of typical German manufacture. I'm not sure which model Alphard you have, but it's worth checking with the seller. Some alloys have a tapered seating for the wheel nuts, but many of the Alphards like mine, have a flat seating with a large washer. Hope this helps.
Regards Tony.
Hi Tony,
I just bought the same prior to reading your reply. Great Minds...
Mine are still in the post.
Have you fitted yours yet ?
I am a little concerned my adjustable torque wrench won't go high enough.
Maybe a trip to my local garage that work on my Fords...
I agree with everything you mention above. I believe mine are flat seating too.
I found wheelpartsdirect very helpful.
They are not cheap; but nor are the original wheels.
Other readers. Please note the remark about Flat Seating. Check before you buy.
I am also looking into other security measures. I need to understand the wireless locking system a little better.
I am concerned about unscrupulous scanners when travelling.

Mine is fine. (2.4s Evo)It's a friend of mine. I think he's been looking at YouTube too much and coming up with a lot of American videos. I think he's panicking.
They were some issues with the 2.4 in the States; and there is ongoing class action activity.
As far as I am aware those engines were made in Kentucky (US) for the US Camry.
Your friends Alphard will not have a US engine.
Correct antifreeze and scheduled oil changes are the way for him to go for peace of mind.
If he has a high miler, oil change in the auto box may be worth considering.
He will have a cam chain so should be OK.
I don't know how long the water pumps last.
I am currently waiting for my (free) Toyota pre winter inspection appointment.

Are you burning (too much) oil ?

Hi,just a reminder, alloy wheels do tend to be stolen, so I have purchased a set of 4 locking wheel nuts with the key socket. If anyone else purchases a set, remember to retain the 4 wheel nuts you will have spare and put them in a bag with the key socket, It is a good idea to put the bag in the locker with the jack and wheel brace. I also intend to buy an extra key socket to put elsewhere in the vehicle.
Hello again,
Where did you buy your locking wheel nuts ?

I have imported Alphard 3.5 and Adrian Flux said there is no reference of the price. Anyone can help?
Welcome to the Forum.
Adrian Flux can be very expensive, although not everyone receives a horrendous quote.
There is a page on this Forum with several Insurance Companies that will insure Alphards (although maybe not the 3.5l as it is relatively new to the UK market).
Be persistent.
Try phoning the usual outfits as your Alphard probably won't be in their options list if you try quoting on line.
Aviva, Direct Line, Churchill, and many others.
Good Luck.
I am sure you will receive help from existing 3.5l users on here too.

Hello 100V users.
I have not used 100v outlets yet but !!
The inverter is powered by the vehicle battery.
Be careful not to take too much power without the engine running (to recharge the battery); even then, if only idling you may drain the battery anyhow.
As a Tigerbear says, the AC outlet switch needs to be on for the outlets to operate. (so you can switch off the kids entertainment as soon as it gets too loud, or they fail to behave!).
The outlet(s) is(are) rated at 100W. I have two. I do not know whether they are rated at 100w each, or 100w collectively ! I assume collectively.
Although I have a mains hookup I am hoping to use the 100v to charge my laptop battery when on the move, and use mains when at a campsite.
I may get a 240v invertor to work from my leisure battery at a later date.
Sourcing Japanese plug leads for European socketed equipment can be fun; try RS Components.
But I don't have a Hybrid ....

Hi, thank you. The van is currently still at the unit being converted into a Campervan. The guy he has used has tried to fit an English touchscreen appleplay system but failed to do so. He says its an integrated system and was worried I would lose some other functions. Ive tried to find someone who can do this for me without success so far.
I want to be able to have the function buttons changed to English, the sat nav converted to English and the radio too..
Ben Hau, in Birmingham, can get your system buzzing whilst retaining all original functions for cameras and steering controls.
He is beanbean (something) on ebay.
Check our ebay. I just deleted him from my history.
Charliec may know his ebay moniker. Try to PM him for help.

Ive purchased a Toyota Vellfire from a company who imports them in and converts to Campervans. The only problem is that this company doesn't deal or know how to convert/change the audio/sat nav from Japanese to English. I can't seem to find a company local who can do it either.. can anyone help or advise?
Hello Janette,
Welcome to the Forum.
What are you trying to do ?
Change the language setting on your existing head unit from Japanese to English
Or have the whole head unit replaced with a new one. There are lots of threads on here for this.
Try searching for Radio replacement or Head Unit Replacement.
I may help us all to help you, if you are able to attach a photo of the head unit to this thread.
Just drag and drop onto the paper clip motif.

Here is another link to another package for different version including video https://mega.nz/file/p5UwhbpL#uX8uBg4TGeYUtQQRU5ZBz5Q9LswlrxrhwfXYAYyUzS0
Unfortunately Techstream is getting updated reasonably fast, some of the links may stop working after a while
As far as I remember the most stable versions are for Windows 7 and you need to install cable driver first before the software however all this info should be attached in installation notes. Read first and follow the steps as each installation will be different. All depends how the licence was cracked by the owner.
Good Luck!
Thanks Nov,
I am on Windows 10, 64 bit ! My Win 7 is long gone.
I need to buy the cable !
I am almost there. The driver is looking to communicate with the vehicle, and can't.
As far as I am aware; I don't need Techstream; but would like to have it on my PC (and now I do) just in case I do need it.
Many users of this Forum could make use of it. Luckily, it is a 'Just in Case' for me.

Hi Dicko,
Welcome to the Forum.
Are you sure it is a 2.2 ?
A 2.4 perhaps ?

Hi Nov,
Progress.
I have managed to download Techstream; please don't ask how as I haven't the faintest idea !
However, I can't run it (yet) as I have to complete a configuration page and don't have all the requisite info !
Especially the repairer code
Hopefully persistence will pay of; and I'll reread all that info on the link pages.
Perhaps I can figure out what I have done incorrectly !
OK, so I think I have installed the driver, but it won't run as I do not have the cable to connect to my vehicle (yet).
There things are always easy when you know how. I can't take my learner plates off yet !!.
Thanks for your help Nov, I am making progress.

Hi Nov,
Thanks for this.
I am no expert at these things, I tried to download Techstream from the link above.
I got lots of stuff; Yandex for 1. And an unknown unzipper suite.
But I didn't get Techstream.
I'll try again, and again, as I would like to have the software available if I ever need it.

You can download and install Techstream for free without any issues.
Downloaded version need to be compatible with your PC OS Version and you need to get Mini-VCI J2534 cable which you can easilly find on Ebay.
For the correct software version search OBD forums such as http://blog.obdii365.com/tag/toyota-techstream/ (or other )and Youtube videos (there are plenty of them).
One small problem is that versions are not equal regarding the features so this part can be tricky.... depends on your needs 😉

I think it’s free and the cable you need isn’t expensive. I found some links, but I haven’t tried it. Worth watching the videos. https://www.masconit.com/toyota-techstream-software/Hi Arthur,
I just tried all those links and none of them work.
I read somewhere that there are various licences; None are free.
The one for dealers is not expensive for a dealer.

Hi Colin,
My plates are 33cm wide by 18cm tall, including the GB notation.
For some reason my rear plates are bolted on; not the usual UK plastic fixings.
(I didn't check the front).
Maybe because the holes are for Japanese plates.

Hi Carrera, and welcome to this Forum.
Toyota Direct, or try your local Toyota dealer.
Some dealers, mine for example, are very helpful; others hide behind the grey import excuse.

As Stutsy says, blind spot mirror.
Front bumper, and nearside curb.
Let me know if your eyesight is good enough to use it.
My eyesight is not 40 / 40 !

I have not received the appointment yet; but Toyota wrote to me.
it's included in their latest marketing material "Toyota To You"
I need to chase it.
Have you registered your vehicle with your local Toyota dealer ?
