Hi
Do any members know of a company who service and repair Alphard Air Conditioning systems?
AC light flashing and not getting cold.
please let me know
thanks
Kwik Fit will test your Alphie
Tested my ford for leaks before regassing it.
No leaks, you pay for the refrigerant; otherwise they give you a verbal report for to decide what to do, and where to go !

Jenny. My unit is the same as yours. I’ve tried the google translate camera as suggested by SupaDave. It doesn’t translate very well, there’s a vast amount to translate, and if you do eventually figure out how to do something you’ll have to remember is all for repeat operations. I’m going to try again tho cos I’m a glutton for punishment.
On Rojie’s comment about the radio, I live in Glasgow. Once I’ve found the FM stations reception is about the same as it was in my previous vehicle, but once you head out into Argyll the reception is very poor whatever you’re driving. I’ve even found I can get local Glasgow stations, but as I’ve said before finding anything is tedious because the scanning process on my and Jenny’s unit is fiddly using the tiny up and down buttons at top left, and as yet I haven’t found how to use the preset.
Dewatte,
I have a different head unit; but once you have tuned in a station, just press and hold a channel number for a few seconds.
I can't remember if it beeps or not. That should preset that freqency to that channel.

Hi, just collected the wife's Ford Connect van from our MOT Garage and mentioned we had just purchased an Alphard and that I was a little concerned about the amount of Camber on the rear wheels, it appears they had been looking after an Alphard for several years. The manager said it was possible the camber angle could be adjusted, so I have arranged to drop in for them to have a "look". Will post their findings when I know.
It may be revolent if anyone wants to tow a caravan.
Somewhere on this Forum, if my memory serves me, is a technical list of the rear camber geometry.
Hopefully, if you search for it, perhaps try camber, you will find it and it ay be of some help.

Hi...hello,
Glad to join with other Alphard members. Just started to drive my Alphard, lot of things to share about sat nav system, connection of original reverse camera, speedo conversion, etc. etc.
Also wish to ask few doubts and issues from other members.
Thanks
Hi and welcome to the Forum.
Please search this site. I feel sure you will find answers to most of the queries you will have.

SupaDave, This is the usual HDD head unit. (Jenny's is far more rare).
Try reading eightseaterblog.com for a very good and detailed explanation and understanding of your unit.
You can get a frequency expander (£20) that will give you most UK FM stations (but not all).
To fit it, the headunit and dash nacelle have to come out.
I suspect you have a powerful and close transmitter if you are getting several stations without an expander.

I only get radio 2 on mine head unit (could be worse!), and have no plans to upgrade the HDD unit.
Dewatte, I have read somewhere, or seen it on youtube, how the erase the HDD recordings.
I'll try and find it again, but don't hold your breath !

As I have said that part number is for the oil pump strainer not gearbox. The only reason for checking is in the part number list on the forum there is listed a number for the strainer 35330-28010. Which I believe is for the early 2002 Alphard.
If you go to the EPC, you can chose the model year, ie. 2002 to 2005, or 2005 to 2008.

Hi. I got it from the Toyota Alphard EPC.
I'll check for the gearbox.
Hi, I checked the gearbox drawings and you appear to be correct. Sorry for my mistake.
The part looks like a small oil tank !
Goo Luck.

Yes my number came from the Epic Toyota Parts list. Where about did you get that number? Is it for the kit or strainer?

I am looking at a gearbox strainer for my 2.4 2006 Alphard two wheel drive, according to the Toyota parts list the part number is 35330-06010 BluePrint number ADT32145 which according to their list fits a Toyota Camry 2000-2006. Is this the part ?
I just took a look at the epc data (for the model which I THINK you have).
I believe the part number is
15014-28020 Please do not use this number without checking it thoroughly.
Are you aware of the epc data ?

Hello, and welcome to the Forum.
Dissatisfaction (or total confusion) with the head unit is not uncommon !
Do you know what model Alphie you have ?
I find the CD auto recording feature really convenient.
Eightseaterblog.com has published a very good guide to the (usual) HDD head unit.
I think Eightseater covers how to delete tracks.
However, your unit is a different model. Is there any type number on the bezel of the unit ?
However, his blog may be helpful to you.
I suggest you give it a try.
Jenny, a member, has the same unit, I think !
I need to check and ask if she has an English manual for it.
She certainly discovered how to change the language to English; which ought to help you.
Be careful if you decide to replace your unit.
DO the research, as with many replacement units you may / will lose the cameras and steering control functions.
There is lots of info on this Forum.
Happy reading.
I just checked if this unit is the same as Jenny's (Smedley). It is.
I suggest you send her a personal message, perhaps she will be able to help you.

Hello Mick,
Which courtesy light are you referring to ?
I ask as there are several.
I assume you are referring to the light cluster near the rear view mirror.

I have the 676 page japanese manual for the 20series headunit, so much easier to google translate a page, than the screen!
Hi again Chris,
I have two Japanese HDD manuals with almost 800 pages.
Initially I found them such hard work, I fell out of the habit of using them.
Now I know about Google Translate and Google Lens I will start to use them again.
Thanks for reminding me I have them.

Hi Pete31
Take a look at Hulkster77’s photo’s at the bottom of the home page. Think I read he took his caravan to Italy and Benidorm but I might be mistaken. It’s a huge caravan but I don’t know what motor is in his Alphard.

Google lens seems to work quite well too.

I wouldn't spend more than necessary on an OBD reader. If you have an Android phone, get one of these for a few quid and the free 'Car Scanner' app from Play Store.
It helped me solve a number of problems on Jap import motors over the years, but crucially a mis-wired O2 sensor, knock sensor and MAP sensor issue on my 2002 Alphard.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.
Link does not work !

head unit or replacement radio
Or permutations on those themes.
Good luck.

Hi Johnsey,
Respectfully, I think this thread has run its course.
Can you start a new one please, as Jenny has resolved her issue.
If you have a MZ G you probably have an HDD unit.
Please refer to eightseaterblog.com; as that is probably the best guide you will find.

Hello Dr Watson,
Welcome to this Forum.
How many people do you intend to carry at any one time ?
As I understand it, lap belts meet the UK DVLA rules.
So you ought to be able to seat six adults all in three point belts.
If you chose to travel with the middle seats reversed (if they are swivel type) you will lose the three point belts, and have to make do with only lap belts.
Although quite legal, it is not recommended to travel in reverse facing seats.
You may be able to source more suitable seating in this Forum, or on ebay.
There was a set for sale a while ago mid July.
Check in the For Sale section.

Hi Johnsey,
Welcome to the Forum.
Common problem this.
If you search for head unit or radio replacement you should get some ideas and responses.
Good luck

Be aware that changing your wheel size could affect you speedo accuracy.
It could also alter the clearances within the wheel arches.
There is a website, Willtheyfit, that is very useful in planning any wheel tyre size combination changes.
Offset is 39mm.
