  1. To me this sounds like a fuel problem as you say when the symptoms happen the engine is under load, acceleration, motorway etc. I am going to refer to my Octavia which had a loss of power, this was caused by a partially blocked fuel filter.................Just a thought
  2. E5 burns better than E10 as the octane level is much higher, higher octane means better burning, better burning means better mpg. My Octavia vrs runs like s**t on E10.So out of habit I only use Tesco Momentum or Shell V Power in our Alphard as the both of these have a 99 Octane rating.
  3. I stuck a usb converter/adapter in one of the 110v sockets, can be switched on or off from the dash, doesn't get hot and is rated 110v to 240v. Gives me 3 usb sockets 👍
  4. I have sent the same message on ebay and have not had a reply, maybe they want the book, Who knows Here is a copy of the message that I had on ebay " New message from: elewright2005 (156) Hello, thanks for sending me a message on the other forum. I’ve got a series 20, 2010, 3.5 Alphard so assumed this translated handbook would cover it? If not I’ll have to pass but not sure how to cancel my bid or if indeed that is possible? " So I don't know what Alphard they have
  5. Hi According to page 7 of this book it covers 2008-2011 models ANH20W ENGINE 2AZFE 2.4L 2WD, ANH25W ENGINE 2AZFE 2.4L 4WD, GGH20W ENGINE 2GRFE 3.5L 2WD, GGH25W ENGINE 2GRFE 3.5L 4WD. So I assume that yours is one of the last 2 motors mentioned. Let me know what you want to do. Best regards Barry
  6. County Cars of Strood. Great Guys, full of knowledge, no bs, See Alan or Ben, tell them Barry from Dover sent you LOL
  7. I have put this on that very well known auction site for £9.99 + £5.55 postage. It was £27.99 originally from Amazon, I would keep it but I have a 2006 Alphard and have bought the relevant one. Item number is 204073693599. My Octavia VRS is there as well LOL👍
  8. This makes for some interesting reading, Thanks for this 👍
  9. Thanks for that but have given up on that as the fm transmitter is working well. Just bought one of these from ebay item number 174427583514 for the 110v socket. I thought it would go one of two ways lol. Well it works and can turn it off from the dash switch, 😀
  10. Just found a shed load of tunes on the hard drive ( good old Google translate). This will keep us going for a while. The bluetooth will not connect to my phone, it wants to find an Iphone lol. A fm transmitter will solve that, so far so good. Can't seem to get front cameras working, but its not a biggie. I will have to find a dvd somewhere to try.
  11. Cheers Fella One good point is that it seems better on fuel than my Octavia Vrs which I find surprising lol
  12. Just picked up a 3.0 Alphard on a 06 plate 69000 miles, just been serviced, cam belt was changed in May with the water pump, undersealing done, not a mark on it, just found it had 5 gears lol. Also had a tow bar fitted in May which has never been used, this should keep tail gaters away from my rear.
  13. Cancelled
  14. Well all I can say is that things must be taught differently in the Land of the Rising Sun because its on page 117 of the JPNZ Manual for 2008-2011 Alphard's 😄
  15. On page 117 of the JPNZ Manual for 2008-2011 Alphard's it says " Always use the left leg to operate the brake pedal, Using the right leg could cause reactions to be delayed in the event of an accident " Is it just me ?, I have had/driven dozens of autos and have NEVER done this......... .................Thoughts ?? And Yes I have bought a manual before I have even bought the car LOL 🤣
  16. We saw this car in Rochester, to be honest we had no intention of doing a deal, 1) the car had too many miles 2) it had rust coming through in the rear 3) the guy was full of b/s, his info was incorrect 4) he buys low grade motors and tidies them up, ( washing carpets, vigorous use of a buffing wheel) We will probably use Jap Auto Agent after being on the phone with Paul Bowden for over an hour LOL 😵
  17. I know it was terrific, but also he reckons that a Skoda Octavia VRS is not a good car 😲
  18. We all went and had a test drive in a 2009 Alphard 3.5 today. Very nice drive, you could feel the weight in it, the interior was very nice in beige leather with all the toys. The price he wanted was far too high for what it was and he had no chance with the price he quoted me for a p/x. Also it was a grade 3 that he had tidied up, he couldn't find the auction sheet, the paintwork was as flat as a pancake as well, so we now know what they drive like.
  19. According to the JPNZ manual the light comes on at about 10 litres and the tank is 65 litres
  20. I've just come off the phone with Paul of https://www.japautoagent.com/ WOW Can he chat LOL He is a good contender for our Alphard/ Vellfire very informative guy
  21. I would take an eternity to get used to that 😲 when my vrs does it in 4.5 sec comfortably ( someone is bound to say why are you considering an Alphard then) LOL The answer is that the vrs is in no way a comfortable car, you could run over a matchstick and feel it ( sarcasm) Me and my Missus want a bit of comfort with a bit of poke when its needed
  22. I know that lol Certain auction site has shed loads of 2.4's on it for quite silly money but the 3.5's that I have seen are higher mileage than I would have liked for the money, I'm just playing the waiting game now 😁
  23. Maybe if I were to wait a bit the petrol pricing may make these cheaper LOL 🤑
  24. All this is very helpful info, Thanks for this
