Just insured our Vellfire for the first time. Quote from NFU Mutual over £1900 and the help desk less than helpful. 

Insurance subsequently arranged by Adrian Flux. All in just a smidgen over  £600. Service was first class and extremely helpful. 

Happy customer. 

Renewed with Adrian Flux a couple of weeks ago.   £40 less than my first year (last year)

Hi I am newbie here with my 08 Alphard 350s imported from Hong Kong (Original - Japan Imported), I am struggle at the insurance quote since I am not able to locate the right model at Aviva and Admiral since they only got 3.0 liter and 2010 3.5 model but not 2008 one. Does anyone have a clue on this?

Welcome to the Forum.

 

As an import, many of the on-line sites will not recognise an Alphard.

 

I suggest you shortlist a few companies, and there are many examples within this forum, and phone them.

 

You can, of course, have a broker do all that for you; but at a premium.

Thanks Rojie, sure will do and Admiral just got 2010 Alphard 3.5 but not for 2008. I phone them and they will need some time to get back to me. I wonder if anyone also got the same model and how they deal with this?

update from Admiral that they wont not insure 2008 Alphard since their database is listed as 2010 but not 2008 3.5 model.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 240S and 240X the insurance companies ask for? How do we know which one is mine? Any guidance on that would be greatly appreciated. (I did search for 240 everywhere on the forum but could not find an answer)

I had JapCover to cover mine at last @£739 with 4years NCB even cheaper than my BMW ix3 with Admiral @ £850

Yes, I wait for the registration done with the Reg Number issued before they can offer a quote for me.

Just got our renewal from Privilege, last year it was 632.25 and this year it's 523.80 - quite the difference. That's with a multi-car discount, 10k mileage 'allowance' and  breakdown cover. It has a 'modification' which is a caravanette, which was the closest I could find in the drop down list - though it's more like a van we can sleep in..

 

Just done the Adrian Flux website and got!:

Just renewed with Hastings for £577. Last year was £590, any drop in price without me having to do the renewal dance is fine by me. Quick check of comparison sites were bringing back £600+

This is just list is almost certainly out of date, as Insurance Companies change their policies; pun intended.
