  1. Ensure your starter battery is fully charged. Check the integrity of the battery terminals and leads.
  2. Hello Adrian, Welcome to the Forum. Have you checked the Buy and Sell section ?
  3. Hello Stephen, Welcome to the Forum.
  4. Check the obstruction sensor for cleanliness.
  5. Behind the passenger lower glove box. Glove box needs to be removed; easy, but there's a knack to it ! Filter very easy to change.
  6. Hello Billy, Welcome to the Forum.
  7. My understanding is that prior to the Gen 1 facelift, 2005, your machine will not be, officially, compliant; whether it is or not.
  8. Just a small caution for Gen 1 owners. I knowingly bought some struts for a Gen 2 from AliExpress, as Gen 1 were not available ! The Gen 2 didn't fit ! My fault, not AliExpress. Amazingly, Toyota can, could, still supply the K type for my van, but at 200 pounds each ! My tail gate is electrically assisted, and I experience some juddering. My dilemma ? What is the cause, motor or struts ?
  9. I am no authority on this subject, nor will I be, and I have no intention of towing; as opposed to having a tow bar mounted bike rack. I do not have a tow bar. Having read the information in the link I would suggest, imho, that there are three issues 1) Is it safe ? 2) Is it legal ? 3) Is your insurance valid ? I cannot answer any of these questions ! I respectfully suggest all members intending to tow read the link that Andrew has supplied. It is not based on some individual's opinion, i.e. a rumour ! It seems to be a (somewhat) official stance. I will check my VIN, but only to check the Gross Vehicle weight. My VIN has no gross vehicle weight. In fact, no weight information at all ! From the JPNZ Owners Manual, my vehicle weight is 1910kg. A 4wd is 100kg heavier. Both values are for Gen 1. The Owners Manual is not clear (to me) on whether this is dry weight, wet weight, or any other qualification. Perhaps a member with experience of towing, not necessarily with an Alphie, can shed some more light on this situation. Food for thought, on another line of thought. When towing, with any vehicle, does your insurance need to know that you intend to tow? Do they need to know what you are towing (caravan, boat, horse, etc), and the value of that trailer combination ?
  10. Thanks for this. I'll try and look into it.
  11. If you have the correct part number, Toyota Direct will probably get the part for you.
  12. Hi Andrew, Which organisation told you this ? It needs to be validated, or not.
  13. Hi Laury, There is a thread on Insurance. Check it out.

  18. The paint code is on the VIN. B Pillar, passenger side. Suggest you buy from Toyota; not have it made up.
  19. I think Chris.ac put up a diagram of this on the Forum. Suggest you search his content; there is rather a lot !
