  1. Hi, Looks like the FRO 396 has exactly the same page numbers missing. I noticed this when the manual arrived, but as it is the section on "Emergences" it would not have been the same emergency requiements in the Japanese version.
  2. Hi,at least my post has highlighted a small problem which I hope will enable others to order the correct handbook for their model. I repeat, well worth the cost! As a check, the FRO 396 Owners Manual covers:- Type MNH 10W--ENGINE 1MZ-FE with DRIVE MODE-FF and Type ANH 10W--ENGINE 2AZ-FE with DRIVE MODE-FF. :- Type MNH 15W--ENGINE 1MZ-FE with DRIVE MODE-4WD and Type ANH-15W--ENGINE 2AZ-FE with DRIVE MODE-4WD.
  3. Hi,not sure if there is a problem with part numbers on these manuals, the one I received Thursday is from the same company JPNZ and is FRO 396, [ 2002 - 2008]. I agree well worth every penny!
  4. Hi, I have been posting on these pages for some weeks now and if folks are interested, a little more about myself. I'm quite ancient, but have been in or around the motor trade for over 50 years[ 30 of which were teaching 11 to 18 year olds]. Until we decided to try camping in an Alphard, my expertise is restoring Morris Minor Vans and DAF Cars/Vans[if interested have a look at some of my 1000+ posts on the DAF Owners Pro Boards web site]. I hope to be able to use some of my knowledge to help you all once I get to know the Alphard better.
  5. Hi, I'm sure ,like myself, you new owners received with your Alphard, an impressive quantity of booklets and service documents, which of course are totally useless as they are witten in Japanese. I did try translating some of the wording using on-line translating but found this was not at all easy. I took to looking back through many Topics until I found where I could get a translated copy of the drivers hand book. These are well worth the cost and obtained from:- www.autobooksdirect.com these are from translations carried out in New Zealand, so are in effect an accurate copy, with a little "jiggling" to make the book more usable for us in the UK. The Part Number is FRO 396.
  6. Hi, thanks for the help, will check tomorrow.
  7. Have eventually found that the VIN Number is printed on the V5C[V5C's now have a new format], but the engine number given is only 3 digits so obviously incorrect. I have ordered an English copy of the drivers handbook which will hopefully show where the engine number is located.
  8. I would lke to know the rear Camber Angle please. Many thanks in anticipation.
  9. Thanks for the recommendation. I have purchased and fitted one from PCT Automotive and was impress by the quality and fitting instructions. I would also recommend this company.
  10. Hi, I recently purchased a 2007 Alphard, the main problem is that when I eventually received the V5C from DVLA I noticed there is no VIN or engine number shown. Obviously the DVLA are OK with this, but I'm not happy because if it is stolen there is no official record of the vehicle. I suggest everyone checks their V5C. I'll get in touch with the DVLA and see if I can add these numbers onto the V5C and return it to have them added[that's of course if I can find them!]. If anyone has any idea where to find them please post on these pages. All my windows can be operated fron the drivers seat. I have got around the speedo KM problem by purchasing a Snooper MySpeed which has the bonus of registering speed limits as well as very accurate speeds in MPH. I only had one key with the vehicle, but found a company suprisingly a few miles from[we live in deepest Devon], who came round and within very few minutes had cut and programmed 2 new keys and programmed them to open/close the sliding door with one of the buttons on the key. Quite expensive, but in the grand scheme of things, peace of mind. I've been in and around the motor trade for over 50 years and this vehicle is one of the best.
  11. I have noticed the camber angle on the rear suspension is fairly prenounced.Firstly is this normal and if not could it be due to the added weight of the full conversion. There is a remedy if it's not normal which are spring assistors. I fitted these years ago when towing a caravan where the nose weight pushed the rear of the car down too much.
  12. Hi, probably not a problem solver, but many years ago when in the motor trade we had a similar problem with a large car,we spent a day trying to cure the problem steering geometry, play in the various suspension components, tyre pressures, all to no avail, then in desperstion we swapped wheels and tyres to the opposite sides and hey presto problem cured, we never found out why it worked but it did! It may be worth a try.
  13. Hi, Where can I get a towbar for my Alphard? I'm new to the Alphard.
