  1. Anti glare mirror details: m_01_0084.pdf
  2. m_01_0026.pdf Details the auto headlamp dipping
  3. You are right, on the alphards exported to china, they had to have auto headlamp dipping fitted, that big Boi incorporates a filter/lens to detect oncoming traffic and when within a certain range, will turn off high beams, it is setup for driving on the right hand side carriage way, so not sure if the lens setup would work on UK roads. There is an anti glare mirror that has a small sensor on the inside face, that will detect headlamps behind you and auto flip the mirror to cut glare.
  4. the difference seems to be that the 20 series one can command use of the existing cruise control stalk, whereas the 10 series can have additional button installed. I think this is purely because the prefacelift 10 series had a manual wire throttle control, so it may be possible to use the 20series connectors, but I have not looked in to that.
  5. For the 10 series, you need the slightly different model https://pivotjp.com/product/3da/3da_std.html Compatibility listed here (ANH10/15) https://pivotjp.com/download/pdf/compatibility/tha_list.pdf?date=20220506
  6. a novel solution, well done. I want to go one step further, have an external connector in the front grill, that I can plug into, even better if I can modify the alphard logo to flip up, use a standard EV charging socket. Then, you could sneakily park in EV spots and plug in ( obviously it would not actually be a live connection from the EV charger to your car). have some animated red light near the charging socket to fool the casual observer that you are actually charging. A sneaky EV sticker on the back (Easily purchasable) and bobs your uncle, an actual external socket you can use to jumpstart or trickle charge, plus the ability to use larger parking spots if not scrutinised too closely!!!!! WHat do you think!!
  7. So you can click on the cars to get more info, and links to catalogues (Japanese, but interesting to see the colours, trims, wheels, extras) you can see on the 2011 they added 360 cameras as an option, long before Tesla.
  8. If you go to the 75 years of toyota page, you can click through to the sales brochures. http://www.toyota-global.com/company/history_of_toyota/75years/vehicle_lineage/family_tree/index.html
  9. foot'stool' lol, nice one.
  10. yeah, a lot of people now do not own computers/use regular forums. I see a lot of posts on facebook, but that is a poor way to share information, I find most people join and ask the same questions, much easier to search a forum.
  11. seems like the russian host of the gen 1 alphard maintenance manual has had their site cutoff Looks like back to the search engines to find a copy, it would have had the info you needed, too.
  12. Just be aware that vehicles newer then 10 years old are subject to additional taxation as if buying a vehicle manufactured in the eu. I would also check the roadtax situation again, as there are rules based on year of manufacture and newer cars are stricter
  13. because they are imported, it falls under the classification based on size and year of manufacture, it defaults to the about £280 bracket (i think i posted elsewhere the links to the updated costs) if anything, if the correct emissions certs were purchased, the cost should reduce, because the alphard 2nd gen are better than Euro 4
  14. This quick reference to service part torques and oil requirements for 20 series is useful to print off and keep in glovebo ALPHARD.pdf
  15. another link to official toyota english manual (again 2nd gen only) can be found linked here: https://vaug.club/kb/reference/alphard-vellfire-20-english-user-manual-by-nik-dy-izwan-shah/
  16. Yes. 2008 onwards, you can buy the official stalk, plug it in and away you go. no additional ECU or messing about, I really wonder why toyota decided this was a worthwhile 'extra' and didnt just fit as standard to all vehicles!
  17. yeah, all 2008 onwards no longer have rotating seats.
  18. are these rotatable seats? If so, there are two controls to 'tilt' the seat, one of the is the normal pull up release to tilt back, or tilt forward to access the rear seats, there should be another that is used to fold the seat forward for when rotating. First, use the lever to push the seat backs backward, then use the smaller button to flip the seat forward as if you are going to rotate it. that should reset it
  19. Ian, if you have a working obd bluetooth adaptor you can use 'car scanner' app to adjust the external light level at which the headlamps come on and go back off (also the delay to prevent them flashng on and off when you go through short tunnels.
  20. if you use carvx website and know the vin number, you can do a free lookup - https://carvx.jp/
  21. I have the new car features pdfs for 2011, so let me see what new stuff was added/changed which may confirm if the car you are looking at is a 2011
  22. this is for the exported models (JDM models have W in section 2) There are some other codes, to indicate wellcab (disabled access via side door, front passenger or rear ramp, and the Grade codes vary country to country, but definately no year modifier in there.
  23. headunit in the 2008 does not have any map software to make it work outside of japan, as far as I am aware, i've spent more hours than I should trying to find it! In 2010, alphards started to be sold in phillipines, at this point it seems some units were able to choose english as the display option, but I doubt maps outside of that region were made available - the wiring looms were also different to the japanese domestic models, so a straight headunit swapover is not simple. Im at the point of approaching ben in Birmingham to get android box fitted to existing headunit, thus preserving OEM look and amplifier and original cameras etc, but with access to android apps/gps/mirrorscreen etc.
