If its a paper 'haynes' style repair manual you need, I have not been able to source one, however.. you CAN get a digital 'haynes'manual, it runs on a browser and is composed of HTML, pdfs, line drawings etc, if you do a search for 'toyota GSIC' you will find them - they seem to be being sold by various sources - I believe they are ripped from official toyota sources, an online example of one that relates to the rav4 is here: http://manualespurdy.cisdigital.com/Toyota/Rav4Aug2010/rm1322e/MANUAL.HTM/rm1322e/brm/index.html in that example you can see the level of detail it goes down to, I have not been successful in finding a working 'live' website for the Alphard, but my google skills led me down the dark path to russian websites where I was able to download a copy for the Alphard, example of sliding door component page: Example of the procedure to check throttle housing:

On 20series headset - 2nd physical button, then 1st screen button, then the left screen button is mute, with 7 screen buttons adjusting volumn from loud whisper to in your face screaming The long button under the mute button is the 'auto adjust volume with speed of vehicle'

10series, not had opportunity to fiddle with those audio systems - I will grab spome photos of the 20series etc volume controls to see if they match anything you see

i missed out on the japanese yahoo auction site for a rhd light stalk that had both front and rear fog positions, the kit came with the relay that went in engine bay holder and an extension wire loom that ran from the rear side into the tailgate and made the two reverse lights a dual red/white LED - the priority was switched from fog to reverse when engaging rear gear - From what I can see, this stalk is common on several JDM cars like the lexus - but european built cars have the stalk on the left. It at least confirmed that if you fit the relay in to the right slot in the fuse box, and use the wiring in the steering column, you will be able to get the dashboard light to work, which is a lot nicer than remembering to tilt head to see the switch near my knee

on the 20 series, you can turn her volume down or off completely, she used to go about not haveing an etc card inserted, but i found the controls for notifications in the G-sound menus

Disconnect them from the brake/sidelight power feeds and connect both those wires to a switched live (via a foglight switch ) to act as fogs. You already have aftermarket rear lamps that are bright enough without the additional bumper fitted ones.

I have the 676 page japanese manual for the 20series headunit, so much easier to google translate a page, than the screen!

So, I have an aftermarket foglight switch in dash, and some crappy little projector bulb at back (fitted onto the right reflector), but I am not satisfied. I can see in the dash display, next to the illuminated symbol for front fog is a rear fog. I have isolated the OEM wiring circuit diagrammes for the rear fog, including the position of the relay. I have confirmed via the russian owners manual that their lighting stalk is on the left and includes the rear fog position (you have to pass through the front, so front is always illuminated if rear are) Now - I have not been successful yet in my search for a right side stalk with both rear and front fogs, and it may be that it was only designed for left hand drive cars in russia and some parts of asia. BUT: given the looms in toyotas are usually identical across models, with the extras just being left unconnected, the additional feed to the dashboard must still exist - so the possibility to get a proper illuminated symbol on dash exists (I have often forgotten rear fog is on, because the aftermarket buttons are usually obscured by my knee or steering wheel) It would also be great to use the proper wiring loom and have the fuse and relay easily servicable. Anyone else got any insight?

I also have a little panel under the mat in front of drivers seat, if i remove this, there is an engraved VIN - this is on a 2010 20 series

Over on the facebook group someone recognised it as an OEM toyota option, supposed to be pretty rare, and only available on passenger side - he has one on his Estima.

Anyone else have this on their Alphard? I collected car from dealer yesterday, didnt know it had this, it was only when I took the kids out for a 1st drive at night that we were suddenly greeted by an illuminated animated Alphard logo on the step and blue ground illumination! I only have it on the pavement/passenger side -would love to know if aftermarket or OEM to get for drivers side too.

Rojie - I have v16.20.23 - I bought it because it wa the cheapest option to program a new key (Smart start) It is also able to do diagnosis - I will grab some screenshots once I have hooked it up.

Interesting - I have a registered copy of Techstream - under advanced options is a 'unlock navi screen' button. I do not know what this does, but becausr the navi headunits are connected to the canbus, it may be possible to overide the lock via techstream? this may be why you are quoted £70 to unlock I cannot test this, because I do not hve that head unit - where are you based? if that is not revealing too much information

I've not fitted one, but there are kits available: e.g. https://www.towsure.com/toyota-alphard-5-door-mpv-2002-2007-flange-towbar They offer DIY and fitting service too (I don't know what is a reasonable price) If its fully DIY route, you could use ebay, e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283568418838 These are for 1st gen Alphard, but chassis is same I believe, or you can get specifically for a 2nd Gen from same sources.

After any adjustments to the tracking, make sure to disconnect the battery for a few seconds in order to reset the VSC (skid control) computer

Looking at the schematics - the aerial runs to back of dash and travels up the A pillars following the rear washer hose, before headed to back of car - antenna must be on rear glass or rear passenger side glass

I think both my front seats have a bunch of factory fitted amps to power the 18speaker sound system I too would like some aux battery, as I travel for work and need to occasionally use laptop etc. The engine bay is a lot more packed than my older Regius, which had the possibility to fit two regular sized batteries. Im thinking some custom made Li-Ion battery pack I can install behind one of the side panels in the rear, or in the 1st aid kit cubby at the back may be the best for my needs.

Welcome! I too have moved from Regius - I would not have jumped ship, but my poor Regius Windtourer is not ULEZ compliant (Bizzare, as the yearly emissions test pass to a better standard to some vehicles that do pass ULEZ requirement) Nice to have you onboard.

fit a remote controlled motor to the lowering bolt! not sure if they exist, but given all the other extras for the alphard, i'd be surprised if one doesnt exist! On a serious note, make sure to regularly grease the sliding bolt, on my old Regius, the thread completly oxidised, I had to remove wheel by letting out air, and using the jack to remove the tension on the hook.

the 'c' rating for the interior could be artifically low if the car was reviewed prior to a decent valet!
