Hello Zak, Welcome to the Forum. If you bought from a business, take it back and get the issues fixed. I have an earlier model; you may need to press set. Are you sure you have the adaptive cruise option ? How do you know ? The tailgate and power doors are 'power hungry' so make sure your battery is fully charged.

If your wheels and tyre combination are NOT to OEM sizes your speedo and odometer will be inaccurate. Try willtheyfit, or something similar, as you can check errors 'magnitude' with non-standard tyre wheel combinations.

I agree, the ECU does not' 'learn' your driving style per se; but it does calculate the average fuel consumption, and that is largely affected by historic driving style (i.e. speed, terrain, distance and load). Accordingly, it is that historic average that is used to calculate an estimate of the remaining distance that could be covered. The ECU cannot possibly 'know' future driving style' and has no other variable to use in the calculation. If those variables above change significantly, so will the accuracy (if one is needed) of the prediction. As the 'history of driving', my term, is the main basis for the prediction; resetting the trip, thereby deleting the history, and starting a new history, will discount previous data and base a new calculation on the new data it will acquire over the next few miles. I have a vehicle with two trips (as many do), and by resetting one periodically, the difference between single journey data and, say monthly or quarterly data can be compared. It is surprising what the difference is. I agree the remaining distance can increase, If resetting the trip it can only increase, initially. I use to get much amusement from increasing the remaining distance on a previous 5.3l V12 machine ! Smiles per mile until I arrived at the petrol station.

So at least you will be less concerned. Does this price for Oem disks and pads ? I have another vehicle. It's very quick, and has Brembo brakes. Stops fantastic, and so does my bank balance when maintenance is needed !

Computer guesstimates are based on previous use and driving style. Change either and it will throw the calculation out. To clarify what Neville (I think) means. Fill to brim, Note mileage, Run, the further the better, but you do not need to run the tank way down, Fill to brim, Note mileage. Calculate. Distance driven divided by fuel used (amount that was used to refill). Use your normal driving style and normal routes and normal loading. If you can, reset the fuel history before you start the test.

If this vehicle is a recent purchase from a business, you certainly should return to the seller for further 'discussions' If bought from a business you will have protection under Consumer Lawand should have a warranty of some sort.

OK, so I'm guessing. It is a mini disc, probably a secondary unit for the roof screen (which I don't have) so cannot confirm ! Or just a more hi-fi unit than the OEM one. Yes the brightness can be changed from the head unit, but I cannot remember how ! I'll try and play tomorrow. Eightseater.blog.com is good on the head unit It does not brighten much, contrast too, along with various spatial faders. Many members replace the head units, personal preference, many, many more functions. The replacement screens are usually much brighter, but some installations will loose camera or steering wheel controls. I find the OEM unit more than satisfactory. I have a conversion so sound is a little muffled from the rear speakers anyway. There is a premium 12 speaker system (which I don't have) that is reported to be very good. I have a lot of DVDs (which you cannot watch on the move as there is a lookout system (which can be overridden)) and CDs. How do I get Hi-Fi ? When parked, I use a high end HD PC with high quality Bose Bluetooth speakers running from a leisure battery, or the EHU. The real bonus is the sound is Private and my dog doesn't sing along ! I considered making a hood type visor from Plasticard, which would be very easy, but never did (yet). I'll have a play tomorrow and, hopefully give you a button sequence if I can. The JPNZ Owners Manual is very good, but does not cover the HDD head units, (eightseater does it that very well). Forgot. the CD slot plays DVDs. I was most surprised it plays my Region 2 PAL discs when I tried it.

Grim ! On a full tank ? 65 litres, or so. Have you had a speedo chip fitted to convert to mph from kph ?

If the MOT is recent that should good enough. You could take your van to an MOT garage and have them test them without performing an MOT. Have you checked the brake fluid level reservoir. ? Perhaps your brakes need new fluid and a bleed. If your brakes are 'bad' I think it is your van and not the Toyota design. Oh, and reduce your roundabout approach speed.

Hi Larry, That's because, imho, the manual you are referring to is probably the JPNZ Owners Manual, or one of the Toyota Handbooks that come with the vehicle, that some of us have. I would expect that the operation is classed as a Service item and will be in the Service/Maintenance Manual that none of us can get a copy of. Often known herein as the Holy Grail.

Hello John, Thank you for this. I appreciate it. They look just like mine; and my machine is a Gen 1 facelift. I bought some struts previously, but they did not fit. I have been on Ali Ex and the ones for the facelift do not seem to come with brackets, which is OK. I'll check my the measurements against those you have supplied, thanks again. I am also working with Lee to establish whether Gen 1 and Gen are the same. I do know from the epc that there are different variants.

Could be a mini disc player, but that head unit (same as mine) has a mini disc player. Could be a lot of things. Japanese owners are renowned for adding all sorts of gizmos. Could be a toll card reader, although the Alphie also has one of those as standard rhs in lower dash. I am intrigued what 'box' you will have. You can buy a FM band expander for a few pounds; although reports on their effectiveness are mixed.

Hello Ian, Welcome to the Forum. Please add your personal information to your profile. It is difficult for members to advise where to 'shop' if they don't know where you are located ! At this time of year all the convertors will be extremely busy. If they aren't, I would be very careful. Lead-times, at a guess, will be at least 8 weeks, possibly as many as 12. Are you looking to buy a van and then have it converted by the vendor ? Or looking to buy a van and looking for an independent convertor ? Or looking for a van already converted ?
