  1. But if it is the key at fault, my guess is you will have no choice but to get another. The keys are less than £20ish. If you can programme it using the previously mention process, it is a cheap get you running approach.
  2. Yes. there is a sequence process that works for some and not for others. I strongly suggest you buy another blank, at least one; and have it programmed by an auto electrician. It won't be cheap, but neither is being locked out of your vehicle if you lose your only key. 4D67 is the chip type, but they are not battery operated. Hopefully the problem is the key, and not the ignition part of the immobiliser. Another potential problem is that, when I had my sets of keys made, a master key was required, which, thankfully, I had. The auto-locksmith that did mine made additional master keys; more expense but more peace of mind. Good luck.
  3. Have either of you reviewed the Recommended Garages section in this Forum ?
  4. It would be wiser to send your phone number by Private Message; as it will now be available on the internet. I will remove it for you, if you wish.
  5. At what speed are you testing this ?
  6. Hi Will, With the greatest of respect, you are considering buying a vehicle over 20 years old, and intended solely for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM). You cannot expect it to be a UK spec vehicle. Having said that, if you buy it, you will be surprised how sophisticated it will be.
  7. If it is the JPNZ Owners Manual it is well worth having/ No it won't. You almost certainly can't.
  8. Check the Servicing section for a recommended garage near you.
  9. No, it is not to do with reading accuracy; as you say they are all an indication, that is all. I think it is to do with the petrol recirculation system ! Chris is the expert.
  10. Hello Vinay, Welcome to the Forum. Have you checked the Servicing /Recommended garages section in this Forum ?
  11. The handbook cites free play, i.e. no pressure increase as 1 to 6mm. Distance to floor when pressed with 490N should be greater than 59mm. Hopefully, this data may help you assess the brake travel. I believe comparing the brakes of any vehicle against any other dissimilar vehicle is not that meaningful as there are so many variables. So owners, I believe, have fitted braided brake pipes to improve the feel. A serious point, check you have the driver's seat adjusted correctly to your physical characteristics.
  12. Be cautious 'brimming' the tank. For more information you will need to search Chris.ac for his explanation as to why it is not best practice.
  13. Hello J, Welcome to the Forum. You are very fortunate living on IOW; not least of which it is a very nice place to reside. Also, it happens to be the location of one of the best Alphard conversion the country.
  14. As Paul says, it appears to be the Clearance Sensor (as noted on the label). The function is known as the Sonor on the air conditioner dash panel. The function is switchable, and the distances adjustable (at least on the HDD unit).
  15. Hello Dave, Welcome to the Forum.
  16. What you are enquiring about is known as an awning. A very popular topic in this forum. You can search in the search box, at the top rhs of your home page.
  17. Well done. It is worth all the effort once done. At one time, I was trying to consider how to make some removeable covers for mine, but didn't pursue it.
  18. Hello Will, Welcome to the Forum. The seat carriers are above the floor level, the sliders (that they run in) are level with the floor. You should consider an 8 seater if you want to reverse the middle seats. A few 7 seaters have, I have read, got reversible middle seats, but are quite rare.
  19. I am still with Aviva (on other vehicles), but they did fail to renew when I had the conversion done.
  20. Double click on the large 'button' top left of his thread
  21. Picasso should be able to tell you which chip and where to buy it. He will also advise you to solder it into the circuit.
  22. Hello Victoria, Welcome to the Forum. There is a whole lengthy thread on Insurance. You can search from the top rhs of your home page. If yours is not a camper conversion it just needs a little persistence; preferably avoiding the on-line quote engines.
  23. Hello Elizabeth, Welcome to the Forum. Do you mean awning ? If so there are several, at least, threads on the popular topic. You can search from the top rhs of your home page.
  24. Hello John, Welcome to the Forum
