Coolant overflowing
Could be the electric fan, that problem has also been covered in the forum quite recently. I do not think running when the reservoir is almost on minimum is very wise.

Is Toyota Alphard hybrid unreliable before 2008?
Hello Linda, Welcome to the Forum. If your issue is with the Hybrid system, finding a capable facility (near by) will not be easy. Please describe the issue as clearly as you can, to help the membership to help you ! What happens, or doesn't happen ? If a non-hybrid issue you can check the recommended garages in that section.

E10 fuel from September 2021
Hello Jon, Welcome to the Forum. The E5 / E10 debate continues. I have not (yet) read any negative posts regarding actual damage caused by E10. I hope that is true, because when E5 gets withdrawn we will have hundreds of members unable to run their vans.

Coolant overflowing
Hello Jason, Welcome to the Forum. Have you been topping up regularly ? Any steam from the exhaust ? You may have an air-lock. Are there any signs of overheating ? There is a procedure, somewhere in the Forum, on how to bleed the system. There is a search box on your home page, top right.

Hi from Hants.
Hello Anthony, I can only speak of the earlier model, Gen 1, pre 2008. The seven seater and eight seater sit on different rails. The seven uses 4 rails, the eight seater uses five. Of course, this may not be true for the later models, so you need to check carefully.

Alphard car cover
Hello John, Welcome to the Forum. Car washes are quite inexpensive. Perhaps, as a thought, would you use the cover after the building work ? Perhaps for over wintering ? That would change the economics considerably.

Removing the body kit for better clearance to off-road
Hello Chris, I am sorry to have to inform you that you have purchased a limousine; not an off-roader. I would not even begin to think of true off-roading, even with a 4WD Alphie. Good dirt tracks maybe, nothing more severe. Wholesale modification of wheels, tyres, shockers, etc is very expensive. On standard wheel / tyre combinations you have only about 160mm ground clearance. By how much do you plan to heighten the van ?

E10 E5 Fuel
I believe most of those engines used in the USA were made in the USA, and did have issues. Fortunately, these issues were not present in Japanese made engines as included in JDM imports to the UK.

E10 E5 Fuel
Hello Alex, Welcome to the Forum. This fuel debate has been ongoing since E10 was introduced. As far as I know, the FSE engine is not fitted to Alphards/Vellfires; certainly NOT the Gen 1 machines. Regarding the Gen 2, I stand to be corrected.

Seat Rail / Runner Removal - 20 Series
Your profile is set to Gen 1, pre-facelift. Is that what you have ? I am not aware whether the fuel tank needs to be removed, or not; the rails are fastened from underneath the chassis floor on Gen 2. As you say, Gen 1 are removed from above.
