Hello John, Welcome to the Forum. I feel sure Picasso will answer this; but send him your VIN or registration number, by private message if you prefer.

Hello Beverley, Welcome to the Forum.

Hello John, That's incredible. Do any of the drivers have bad driving records or insurance claim issues ? I notice you have your vehicle set incorrectly, I will change it for you. My normal advice on insurance is to phone the companies; don't use the on-line bot driven systems. There is a section on motor insurers, and there is also a section for buying and selling. Consider third party, fire and theft cover to reduce the cost (although increase your risk).

Intermittent electrical failure
Rojie replied to Alice's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Hello Alice, Welcome to the Forum. If you have not done so already, have your garage inspect all cables associated with the battery, have them checked for condition and tightness (at both ends). -

Programming new fob without original
Rojie replied to matty's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Sorry, I missed the important bit. A 2006, manufactured after Sept 2005, will be a facelifted model which uses the 4D67 chip. Earlier models use a different chip. DVLA will have the date of manufacture (supposedly) if the vehicle is already registered in the UK -
Programming new fob without original
Rojie replied to matty's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
The key you show should be OK after the auto-locksmith has done his bit. He will read the 4D67 chip, and progress from there. The key you have will have the 4D67 chip in it, or it would not work for you now. My auto-locksmith insisted on using my 'master' key to programme all my keys as masters (except the green valet key). Of course he also cuts the key(s) too. I think there was some 'artistic licence' (some fibbing) here but the keys work manually and remotely. I can give you the name of my local guy; he may be with a franchise. Actually working with my vehicle at my home helped him a lot; as opposed to being in some shop. Not cheap, but well worthwhile. -
Hybrid Air Con Re-gassing advice please
Rojie replied to PaulE's topic in Toyota Alphard Hybrid (2002 - 2008)
I find it very difficult to believe that Toyota may not have re-gassed your van properly; but you did opt not to have the (pressurised) leak test. -
Hybrid Air Con Re-gassing advice please
Rojie replied to PaulE's topic in Toyota Alphard Hybrid (2002 - 2008)
There is a flap valve that can fail to direct the cold air into the cabin. It is covered in this forum somewhere. Try searching. -

Toyota Alphard 2.4 Hybrid issue
Rojie replied to dziowani's topic in Toyota Alphard Hybrid (2002 - 2008)
You bought a non-running hybrid from an auction house ? Do you have a copy of the Japanese auction sheet? Under the circumstances, have you asked the auction house; or written to the DVLA, for previous owner information? Do you have the V5? That should tell you who the previous owner was. I am not sure that dealers have to register a vehicle while reselling one, I expect not. With 1k miles since import it sounds like it was a problem almost 'immediately'. There is a member of this forum that went to considerable expense to 'repair' his machine. New batteries I vaguely remember, and the cost was in excess of 5k. I'll search for him and advise so you will be able to read his threads. -
Sorry to hear that. Are you locked out of the vehicle, or just cannot start it ? Is it at your home, or stranded somewhere? Have you spoken with your local Toyota Dealer ? Most official Toyota dealers will not work on a grey import, which you have; but it is always worth a try. Did you write to cuttothechase on Youube ? I believe he knows the Glasgow / Edinburgh area well. He is very much a 'do it yourself' guy, but may know the local infrastructure.

Unfortunately, this can be the problem with body kits and lowered vehicles.

4D67, if you need to buy another blank key. Always wise to have enough 'spare' keys

Aren't these part numbers in the Servicing section in this Forum. I have not checked, but have the recollection that they are.

Were we able to help you ?

, Hello Eona, Welcome to the Forum. I am very sorry to hear of your plight. How long have you have the vehicle for ? Consider contacting the seller or previous owner for help; they may even have an illicit spare. Are you able to get into the vehicle ? I assume you do not have a smart key either. Getting a blank ignition / door key is relatively easy; you need one with the 4D67 chip inside. They are quite inexpensive. However you will need a master key to get the blank cut, and probably an Automotive Locksmith to programme it. It's a long shot, I suggest you contact cuttothechase on his Youtube Channel. (Or Ldrego on this forum). He is local to you and may have some useful contacts. Try and be patient, I will notify my colleagues, and hope they can help you quickly. Will get back to you. I assume that an ignition barrel and key combination can be purchased

My supplier must have done the same. There are a few unconnected wires around and taped up. Thanks for the answer.

Hi Lee, Are you speaking of the unit in the dash that Northstar remove ? I still have mine, but it is silent. Is there another box that can be disabled. I'm just curious.

Gross Axle Weights & Aftermarket Wheels
Rojie replied to tarvos's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Imho, fitting XL tyres not only carry the weight better, it also stiffens the ride a little; which I find beneficial. -
Toyota Alphard / Vellfire
Rojie replied to Absmith's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
If you intend wild camping maybe it is worth considering. Heating the water could be a challenge. Carrying enough water shouldn't be. If you intend using campsites why not use their showers ? Or get an EHU fitted. -
Toyota Alphard / Vellfire
Rojie replied to Absmith's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
According to reports in this forum, the 4 cylinder is not underpowered. From what I can gather the V6 is smoother and slightly more quiet. The 4 cylinder (engine) is easier to work on for plug changes. I also forgot to mention earlier, if you buy privately there will be no VAT; buy from a business and there most probably will be. If you run a VAT registered business you can reclaim the VAT; otherwise 20 % straight to the HM Treasury -
Have you searched this forum, top right of your home page ? Awnings is one of the most popular topics on the forum.

Toyota Alphard / Vellfire
Rojie replied to Absmith's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
Many Alphards are not campers, many are. Stealth versions, such as my own, are hard to tell; no hint whatsoever on the outside; only be peering in from the front. Alphards that are not converted are very much a limousine ride, with gadgets to match; and luxury seating. A very, very upmarket MPV. Regarding cost; your first main decision is do you require a pop-top ? They can run to £5k to source and fit. Do you plan wild camping ? There are several first rate conversion companies, and many more that are not so good. My best tip? Go to your local beaches or campsites, talk to owners; they are all proud of their vans, probably members of this Club, and will be glad to speak with you. Finally, check out our Sales area; there are many photographs to widen your mind, and deepen your pocket ! Good Luck.
