  1. Is the dealer you bought from a member of BITMA ? If so, they may have the info on file. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again !
  2. Hello Michael, What are you trying to achieve with the CarVX report ? Are you looking to import another van? I believe the info provided on some imports can be sketchy. BITMA could be helpful if the car is/was imported by a member of their Trade Organisation; otherwise, probably not. Ihmo, vendors trying to sell a stolen vehicle through the Japanese export system are looking for trouble. Finally, if you use Google to view CarVX, Google can remember your passwords (if you request it to).
  3. Hello Gary, Welcome to the Forum
  4. Hello Steve, Welcome to the Forum.
  5. I have not read anything about longevity comparisons either.
  6. . If have three keys and three smart fobs. None have a folding key
  7. Have you read the threads about the vin plate issues with towing ? Does the 2.4 have a CVT ? I thought it was a conventional 4 speed auto. The 3.5l V6 is 2008 onwards, prior to that a 3.0l V6. There are discussions in this forum regarding "To tow, or not to tow" and also the pros and cons of the 4 cylinder versus the V6. You can search from your home page.
  8. Very interesting as those tuners are inexpensive. What aerial are you using ?
  9. You may not have folding mirrors, hence no legend on the button. Heated mirrors was a Cold Climate option. Quite rare.
  10. Timpsons would not do my door and ignition key. I doubt they do 'smart' keys either. But the smart key fobs on the Gen 1 are only for door locks; they won't start the car. Furthermore, if 'their own chip' does not have the 4D67 chip, it won't operate the demobiliser ! I used a local automotive locksmith.
  11. Hello Kizzi, Welcome to the Forum.
  12. Try Toyota/Alphard/EPC, or wait for Picasso to request your Reg/Vin
  13. That could be the ETC above the fold out draw. Does the ETC fit in there, or is an ETC already present. Almost looks like a detent (for a finger) to allow the ETC to be withdrawn. Just a slot to take a card !
  14. Sorry. I have an earlier model; and foolishly described the ETC position in that, thinking it would be the same in your model. That module does not resemble the ETC I have; but again it could be a newer version. I assume the coin holder Chris.ac mentions is below those switches in your photo, or behind your phone. As ever, many Alphies/Vellfires are modified by their former Japanese owners. Some do them well, others don't.
  15. Just as an aside. You should never let your van be towed. Automatic transmissions can be harmed by towing. You should use a dolley at least, and preferably a flat bed truck. This applies to all automatics, not just Alphies. It is not unusual to have battery issues. Batteries can be tested by any competent garage, or Halford, Kwik Fit, and others. They need to be tested under heavy load. A voltmeter is not enough, unless you have a dead cell. (10.8v). You must keep yours fully charged, certainly the starter battery. If you park off road, a smart charger is a great investment. Check for loose connections on the battery and earth leads. Ensure the room (mood) lights are off, which can be difficult to detect in daylight. I have dimmable lights running off the leisure battery; again essential to ensure they are off !
  16. What, leaving a big opening in your dash ? It is unnecessary, and would not be needed in the UK; but you have been left with a hole in your dash panel ? Have you just bought this vehicle ? Privately, or from a business ?
  17. Hello Lyn, Welcome to the Forum. How recently did you buy it ? I assume you are referring to the main (starter) battery. Contact Tanya batteries, they will help. They do a great mail order service. Make sure you get the correct terminal layout and terminal size. If you are referring to the Leisure Battery, give Tanya the part number (on the battery) and , I expect, they will help with that too. If the leisure battery, are you sure the split charging works. Last, but not least, is the alternator working ? I would expect it is not that on a vehicle as young as yours. Is it high mileage ? I'll also send you a Personal (Private) message.
  18. Oopps ! It is easy done. I think the Alphie gear shift could be better in that regard ! The mistakes we learn by experience always have a positive payback
  19. Electronic Toll System. It looks like a mini-disc to the right, lower than the steering wheel.
  20. Have you fitted a new head unit ?
  21. The standard wheel size / tyres for your year are 205/65/16, which are not easy to obtain, tending to be budget variants. 225/55/17. What is your trim level ? AS, AT ? As that is where the 215 variations seem to occur. Most Gen 1 models are specified as 205/65/16. These are for non Hybrid as my manual does not include that data, so I would assume they are the same as conventional models. So, with your set up, your speedometer will read 4% too slow ! Are your wheels standard, as changes to offset will impact wheel-arch clearances ? You have gained 13mm in ride height.
  22. Barriers near me in the coastal region are posted as 198cm ! (6'6"). So I still do as JD suggests, as I know that some barriers are not level across their width. All it needs is a still touch from a delivery van, or something, and the posted height is no longer accurate. If the approach road is not level, are they ever, and depressed (less than 180 degrees) the clearance distance will be even less. I haven't done the maths, but with a 5 metre vehicle the middle of the van will be 'lifted' and reduce the overall clearance height. I have also seen pop tops with a roof higher than the standard 4cm gap !
  23. You need to share the wheel and tyre size, and tyre brand !
  24. Could be. Provide a suitable supply and connect it to the RCA inputs.
  25. I have the V6 version which stands at 1.94m. So just low enough for a 2m carpark (This does not include multi-storey car parks which often have low height in certain places. Also remember you are relying on the fact, or otherwise, that the overhead obstruction is at the correct height, and that the approach is level. Also, non standard wheel size and tyre combinations may affect this rather small gap.
