  1. Hello Dan, Welcome to the Forum. Happy Camparding
  2. Please tell us about your success, and mortgage.
  3. hello Dameon, Welcome to the Forum.
  4. Hello Allen, Welcome to the Forum. Don't underestimate the skills needed to convert your own camper. Depending on what you want / need; I would start there; make a list. Cooking, you will need plumbing and gas experience. EHU, you will need electrical experience. Furniture, you will need carpentry experience. You will also need to develop a process, in terms of what to do first, and how. Night heating, sounds like a diesel heater or LPG. No Alphards carry diesel fuel or LPG as OEM equipment. Ready converted vans are not cheap, but what you see is what you get. My advice ? Buy ready converted.
  5. Do you have these cameras on both wing mirrors ? If so, you may have lane assist.
  6. Try the passenger seat one, behind the glove box, ECU ACC, Fuse 24, 10A. Before you start, it is very difficult to get to. I doubt it is that if your air conditioning is working. I assume ACC is air conditioning. There are no other fuses identified as being for the mirrors.
  7. Under 1.35m tall If the child is under 1.35m tall then they will need a booster seat or cushion - in this case it’s likely the appropriate restraint would be a ‘group 3 – for children weighing 22 -36kgs and roughly 6-11 years old', though you would need to confirm this by checking the child's height. It is both legal and relatively safe for the cushions to be used in the front, but it is safer for them to be used in the rear of the car where possible (especially when an airbag is fitted). The child will need to use the booster cushion until they reach either 1.35cm or 12 years of age, then they will be legally allowed to travel in the front of the car with just a seatbelt as restraint. Booster seats are acceptable in the front. Number 3 in this case. So assuming only you and your granddaughter are the only travellers she can sit in the front (with the correct seat for her weight). If another adult is travelling, as well, they will need to sit on the R & R seat.
  8. Hello Susan, 1. Using a child car seat or booster seat Children must normally use a child car seat until they’re 12 years old or 135 centimetres tall, whichever comes first. Children over 12 or more than 135cm tall must wear a seat belt. You can choose a child car seat based on your child’s height or weight. My reading of these DVLA guidelines is that your granddaughter is not, yet, tall enough, nor old enough to sit in the front seat. Or, imho, in the back if the child seat cannot be secured legally
  9. Hello Sim, Welcome to the Forum.
  10. £7.95 seems a little cheap; but it should not cost much more. This is not an uncommon upgrade, so some reading to do, but should be very easy. If you hit a problem come back to the forum as there are members, and Staff, that should be able to resolve any issues. The part numbers you need are available on this forum. Good Luck, but you shouldn't need it.
  11. Hello Jack, Welcome to the Forum. I have sent you a Private message.
  12. Hello Patricia, I am sincerely sorry for the hassle you had with your van. I am truly sorry that myself, and other members, weren't able to help you. Keep well, keep safe.
  13. The guy in the South West appears to be based in Torquay; but is actually based in Exeter. Search for Hybrid Battery repair in Torquay, or similar. If desperate, I can find his name from a customer of his.
  14. Do you have leisure battery fitted ? How do you expect to power the inverter ? You could try iced (instant) coffee and save a few bob. Do you have a gas hob ?
  15. 15 cm is normal.
  16. Hello Jim, Welcome to the Forum. Happy Camparding.
  17. Thanks for this update. I appreciate it. I am currently awaiting a quote confirmation from Amayama. I provided my vehicle details and, surprisingly, they asked me to confirm them; which I did. I had previously ordered a set, but they were the wrong ones; so I am being more thorough this time. What I was initially quoted, before they requested confirmation of the frame number, was about £70 each but that was for Toyota OEM items. Status ? Ongoing !
  18. Hello Innes, Welcome to the Forum. Very sorry to hear about your Jaguar. I have an XJR and would be lost without her. Service interval is interesting, it is not easy to get Toyota to service a grey import. 2,4 is a chain, 3l V6 is a belt, Some say 60k (miles) for the belt, others say much longer. If the belt fails you will not wreck you engine as the design is non-interference. but you will be stranded. As non-interference the valves do not enter the piston swept area. The base ranges are very good and comfortable. The good news is that Snows in Plymouth will almost certainly service it for you. Very unusual for a Toyota main dealer. The high end models are fully loaded with lots of gizmos, many useful, some not so. I would be very cautious with large wheel and low profile. You could change a luxurious ride into a go kart. It is not cheap to restore the van to OEM suspension, if it has been lowered. Please send me a Private Message. Who is the vendor? Private or Business ?
  19. Just click on Forums at the top of your home page and scroll down to ...... Garages.....
  20. Have you checked the recommendations in the appropriate sub-forum. There may be someone close. It is also worth checking your 'local' official Toyota dealers. Some will work on grey imports; most won't ! It is worth a phone call.
  21. Hello John, Welcome to the Forum. So, I assume, we are speaking of an electrical inverter, as in Honda for example. Most members, other than wild campers, don't use inverters. The exhaust gases must be vented so usually the machines are placed outside, and can be a temptation for theft. Campers can have an EHU fitted. Electrical Hook Up; so they can connect to the 230v mains supply while visiting suitably equipped camp sites and pitches. An EHU must be grounded for safety. I have never used an inverter set-up and am intrigued whether they can be used without a 'proper' ground. So, I eagerly await answers to your question from learned members Or, are you looking for recommendations for someone to install an EHU ?
  22. Hello Masto, Welcome to the Forum. There is quite a lot of buying advice on this forum. Plenty of reading for you to do. There is a search box at the top right of your home page.
  23. I didn't perform the conversion. I suspect the live route was along the nearside under the carpet and insulation. I have a split charging relay in the same location, adjacent to the leisure battery. I also have an EHU and the isolators are in the cupboard at the rear. The EHU enters under the floor at the left rear, very stealthy.
  24. Nearside rear wheel well. I have a rear conversion; so the leisure battery is located under the nearside dining bench seat.
  25. Hello Simon, Welcome to the Forum. I use a topper, about an inch thick. With an air bed you can find the ideal pressure between comfort and no dip. Some members have bought specially shaped foams, or the 'hospital wedges (Amazon) are worth a thought too. Happy Camparding.
