  1. Hello Billy, Welcome to the Forum.
  2. My understanding is that prior to the Gen 1 facelift, 2005, your machine will not be, officially, compliant; whether it is or not.
  3. Just a small caution for Gen 1 owners. I knowingly bought some struts for a Gen 2 from AliExpress, as Gen 1 were not available ! The Gen 2 didn't fit ! My fault, not AliExpress. Amazingly, Toyota can, could, still supply the K type for my van, but at 200 pounds each ! My tail gate is electrically assisted, and I experience some juddering. My dilemma ? What is the cause, motor or struts ?
  4. I am no authority on this subject, nor will I be, and I have no intention of towing; as opposed to having a tow bar mounted bike rack. I do not have a tow bar. Having read the information in the link I would suggest, imho, that there are three issues 1) Is it safe ? 2) Is it legal ? 3) Is your insurance valid ? I cannot answer any of these questions ! I respectfully suggest all members intending to tow read the link that Andrew has supplied. It is not based on some individual's opinion, i.e. a rumour ! It seems to be a (somewhat) official stance. I will check my VIN, but only to check the Gross Vehicle weight. My VIN has no gross vehicle weight. In fact, no weight information at all ! From the JPNZ Owners Manual, my vehicle weight is 1910kg. A 4wd is 100kg heavier. Both values are for Gen 1. The Owners Manual is not clear (to me) on whether this is dry weight, wet weight, or any other qualification. Perhaps a member with experience of towing, not necessarily with an Alphie, can shed some more light on this situation. Food for thought, on another line of thought. When towing, with any vehicle, does your insurance need to know that you intend to tow? Do they need to know what you are towing (caravan, boat, horse, etc), and the value of that trailer combination ?
  5. Thanks for this. I'll try and look into it.
  6. If you have the correct part number, Toyota Direct will probably get the part for you.
  7. Hi Andrew, Which organisation told you this ? It needs to be validated, or not.
  8. Hi Laury, There is a thread on Insurance. Check it out.
  9. Hello Russ, Sorry to hear about your health.
  10. Hello Frankie, Welcome to the Forum.
  11. Yes Lee. Focus on getting well again.
  12. WOW, a million miles. Hope mine lasts that long !
  13. The paint code is on the VIN. B Pillar, passenger side. Suggest you buy from Toyota; not have it made up.
  14. I think Chris.ac put up a diagram of this on the Forum. Suggest you search his content; there is rather a lot !
  15. Hello Lester, Welcome to the Forum.
  16. I was under the impression that the 042 colour is a standard Toyota colour. Check with a main dealer. As aerosols are a pressurised product, shipping through normal postal channels can be problematic.
  17. The model type should be on the passenger side B pillar. It forms part of the VIN number. I'll check my purchasing records for the blackout blind. I have it quite a while. Please note. My Alphard is older than yours, so check the suitability for your model.
  18. Hello Mike, Welcome to the Forum. 2). Should be a Gen 2. Post a photo for confirmation, or provide the model number. 3). I have a Black Out blind which excels for that purpose. It covers the screen, and both front doors. It is robust. It is very easy to fit and remove. It does not have any mesh openings
  19. What a shame, but understandable. However, there is an ever increasing thread on this forum listing where members can get their vehicles serviced. As Larry points out, locating servicing may not be straightforward, but members should ask their local Toyota Official dealer. Most will not, as Larry highlights, work on your vehicle, but some will, so it's worth a phone call. Accordingly, it is advisable, before purchase, to ensure you have a source for servicing. Buyers should also establish whether the selling dealer has on site servicing facilities. Many do not. That may be an important point to consider before the purchase decision is made.
  20. Hell Brendan, Welcome to the Forum. There is a thread on this forum where members list garages that will work on Alphards/Vellfires. Go to the Forums section and take a look at Servicing.
  21. Hello Abigayle, Welcome to the Forum, Where in Devon are you located ? Is your machine a 2010, or a 2008 or earlier ? Looks like 2010, in which case I could change your vehicle type in your profile
  22. 101. Well done Trevor, and Steve. Sadly, I cannot attend. I WISH ALL MEMBERS A SAFE JOURNEY TO, AND FROM, THE 2023 MEET, and an enjoyable meet while there.
