  1. You say you had the gear box rebuilt have you had the torque converter checked when gear box was off as automatics don't have a clutch and it's done by the torque converter could he had taken this off and not tightened it back up correctly.
  2. Worth getting the front drive shafts checked if these are out of balance such as cv joints with play in them

I just recently got my 3.0 lpg conversion registered on my v5 log book to do this you have to send the receipt you was given when paying for the conversion and a letter headed note with the converters business name and address on . Now my details show as. Gas-bi fuel. All documents have to be originals and not photo copies .

  7. A lot of insurance will allow you to use good second-hand parts if new parts are not available

Really sorry to see this happen to you . you will be able to get most parts through your local toyota dealer if I was you get a price for all the parts then tell your insurance company they won't write it off if you want tell me what parts you want and your vin number I will give you all the correct part no.s to give toyota .

  10. You have definitely blown a fuse there are 4 fuse boxes on the alphard your going to have to check all your fuses if you have a English owners handbook it will tell your fuse locations I hope you get it sorted .

  13. Some toyota dealers don't have japanese lookup system if you supply a oe number they will find out the price for you if you don't know oe number if you want give me your vin number I will give you the oe number

I went to look at a Alphard in Norwich a good Alphard dealer company name Andy'S imports i think if you googled him i bet he would do the replacement rack for you or know some one who would replace it. the rack to buy is £342.00 but you get £150.00 back when you send your old core back which they arrange free collection of . i only buy parts from these guys as they are local to me and always give me good advice its the reason why i bought the Alphard.
  19. there is a company in coventry my home town where i buy all my alphard bits they also own a steering rack company i have asked for you they have a rack on the shelf fully rebuilt and tested 12 months warranty they do a exchange service
  20. the fluid is red to be honest before putting more fluid in i would get the rack tested and rebuilt as i do believe you have a seal blown
  21. If topping up from empty jack front up both wheels of ground topfluid up and at same time get some one to turn steering wheel from 10 o'clock till 2 o'clock backwards and forwards this will stop you blowing the seals in the rack if you turn full lock each time you will blow all seals in rack the steering rack pump is driven by a belt. The weakest seal and I guess this is what has gone is the inner tie rod seal which is where the steering rack gaiter is .
