From what I recall, roof racks from Thule were discontinued once the 30 series was launched, but kits from japan and Australia are still available - I think the load rate was up to 75kg, so as long as the tent box is under that you should be fine, once stationary you can multiply by 5 for occupant weight. In uk many are converted with pop top roofs, usually the 10 series. Maybe another route is to find a similar chassis, the 10 series shared Granvia/hiace body type. I have the datasheets for the safety crumple zones in the roof, but nothing about max loading unfortunately.

Sorry, its just that its not a thing in Japan, same with towing caravans, so JDM vehicles tend not to have these values available. You *May* be able to find these values on Russian/China/UAE official export documents (Toyota made 20 series available in these regions), I would try looking at toyota official certification for external supplier parts, but it is difficult tracking it down, as most of this is from 2008.

Using app "caura" (I have on android) It will show you which emissions zones you are good in, for Birmingham, Bristol, Bath, Leeds, London etc. Also can be used to remind of tax, mot, insurance, and can be used to pay congestion charge

Can't remember the frequency. I bought from this guy https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/archie1

Yes, the ebay seller is a decent chap, will even send you software via download if you don't have cdrom drive. installing the drivers for the cable can be tricky depending on the version of Windows you have, so to mame it easy, id recommend the virtual machine version from the other link I posted, although the software the seller provides should include the latest drivers too.

Workshop manuals for 1st Gen (holy Grail?)
Chris.ac replied to Chris.ac's topic in Toyota Alphard Technical Guides
It's back online. I downloaded an offline copy, it's possible to translate it all, by primary focus is my 20series workshop Manuals at moment (online 20 series is for the non JDM exported alphards, practically identical except for audio /media system) -
Reverse camera laterally inverted on 2007 Alphard
Chris.ac replied to shelly758's topic in General Chat
I'm pretty sure the diagnostics mode allows you to reset the cameras. Look for the thread 'Holy grail' for link to 10series workshop manual. Its in Japanese, but if you persevere its a really good source. -
I think link is still valid, if you have a relatively modern laptop, use the virtual machine set up(instructions at the link), it's a walk in the park, as it's all configured for you. Edit. Just checked. Links still work. Vci adaptor = £40. The techstream software is included, but simpler to download from the link on the Toyota ihud page, it was last updated a month ago.

According to the doc I have access to, it's a standard lead acid 12v battery, it due not need to be too large in capacity, as the petrol aspect of the engine is started via the HV battery pack The 20 series uses the Synergy hybrid system as on the previa/estima, so it's imagine the same battery type.

Headlight bulb replacement
Chris.ac replied to Jay Villa's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
D4S HID bulbs from amazon, about £20 a pair (replace both at same time, as once one burns out, the other is not usually far behind. Easy to do, wear gloves. Manual here: http://zatonevkredit.ru/repair_manuals/viewdoc_html/AWI4O_qhU9h2CeTmduUr/AWI4PsUCBFyj9RK37Lyi -
Radio bandwidth
Chris.ac replied to noelfad's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
If it's just radio, honestly, get a dab receiver or radio receiver that connects to the headunit via a selectable frequency that you can receive. I guess it depends on your budget and how integrated you want it. Personally, I use a radio app on phone and connect via Bluetooth (I have unlimited data on my mobile network) -

I thought this has been discussed in the 20 series forum, the 10 and 20 series are completely different security systems, there is no magic sequence of door open/close lights on/off that will work on a 20 series. If you have a laptop, you can buy the software and cable to program keys for under £50 (techstream and vci cable), Erased fob ( 3, 4 or 5 button depending on spec) for around £60. Programming literally takes less than 40seconds, but you also gain full diagnostics tool and dealer level configuration of the onboard control systems (Locks, lights, buzzer volume, courtesy lights, flashing indicators/beeps on lock/unlock, internal temp calibration, auto light sensitivity, auto lock on/off on 'Park' gear selection, window control via remote/physical key etc)

Orange on the switch is just paint, no led. Also, have you disconnected battery at some point? On 20 series, the rear doors and the boot have seperate ecu with memory, you need to manually open and close each door to reset, or disconnect battery, ensure all doors are closed, then reconnect battery. Refer to the electrical component guide here: https://slideplayer.com/amp/10248235/

Something strange just happened with my windows
Chris.ac replied to Alfie's topic in Toyota Alphard Camper Discussions
It's weird that it happened with keys on side, I'd open fob and check there is no surface corrosion on the circuit board, and check the rubber buttons for gunk, maybe some moisture/condensation built up? -
Press 1st button top row, press the top right screen button to turn off front display From that screen you can also press the top middle screen icon to open/close roof screen
