  1. By the way what is this P))))) button? Automatic parking? Radar? Bit untidy car but I'm hoping valeting should fix it..
  2. Exporter has confirmed the manufacturing year is 2008 and looking at model code from picture and link suggested same https://www.carfolio.com/toyota-alphard-350g-177859 I'm also confused..I was delighted at thought of buying 2011 Alphard v6 with 60k Miles but now considering if it is right. It's 350G L package.. It also has an interesting step on the passenger side. Lovely for my parents / kids. Please see pic
  3. So I have got the auction sheet and details Registration is 2011 June as per auction sheet Model is DBA-GGH20W-PFTQK (=2008) AUCTION RATING 3.5 / B B KMS 98000 (=61000 Miles) Gearbox is U660E = 6 speed automatic Engine 2GR-FE 3.5L v6 Trim LA01 Option R*** So it looks like it is sitting from 2008 to mid 2011?!
  4. Seems like car was manufactured when credit crunch hit the economy in 2008. Car might have been left unsold for couple of years. Can that add to aging of pipes / plastics? It's not possible to check year of manufacture when buying in Japan but only year of registration. πŸ˜‘
  5. Chris, I too personally love cruising at 55-58 mph than going 70. I understand Japanese speed limit is around 55 ish and engines are optimised to give best economy too at that speed. Win win.
  6. Wonder if 18 inch alloy wheels be used to put winter tyres on them? Traveling to Europe in winter you need winter ones. Are 18 inch any safer or unsafe than 16/17?
  7. Guys I'm buying Alphard that was registered in 2011 but when looked at detail year of manufacture is 2008! It's that normal? Where was the car for so long after manufacture? Its gen 2 Alphard, so is it best to avoid the first year is manufactured and look at later years? Any friendly advice will be much appreciated. TIA πŸ‘
  8. Apologies Guys might be stupid question. Some Alphards have 18 inch wheels? Why? I'm looking at buying one that has 18 inch and some funny YELLOW coil springs? Anyone knows what is going on here? Should it be a red flag? Avoid such car or are these desirable? It's Gen 2, 3.5L v6 if it matters. Please see the pictures! Thankyou πŸ‘ 235/50R18 97V
  9. Hey Steve Can you please share link to your videos? Are they on YouTube? Channel name? Thanks
  10. Thankyou for detailed reply. I'll look up what blueprint part means and sellers you mentioned. QUESTION - Is there a paper or soft copy of service manual, owner manual or Hayes repair book? They can be really handy
  11. That's a V6? 2gr-fe? 6 speed transmission? Great!🎌
  12. Thanks Mike can you please share link to e5 e10 compare link? This is 5 gear machine? Have you tried premium fuel? Might be interesting
  13. Company who bid at auction for me.
  14. It is made by the part division of exporter. Hopefully they will do half decent job. I don't even know yet how many keys are there with the car. Waiting for post auction pictures..
  15. You make this forum worth it Sir! πŸ‘πŸ₯³
  16. Thanks Rojie, your help is appreciated. I wonder if there are known / semi reputed chip fitters in and around London? Last thing I want to someone ruining the car..πŸ˜‘πŸ˜€
  17. Car exporter in Japan is happy to get extra key made for approx Β£100. I wonder if it's cheaper to get one made in UK?
  18. Please post your Alphard (or Vellfire) 1. Year 2. Model 3. Driving (urban/motorway heavy or mix) 4. MPG you get If using only premium fuel, feel free to mention it. πŸ‘πŸŽŒπŸ₯³...here we go!
  19. If anyone found suitable cat make model for gen 2, please share the link / image. Cheers πŸ‘
  20. Many thanks for your reply. It is 2011 with 60k miles, let's see how worn are the strutts when it arrives. Will need to see which brand to chose and is reputable. By the way are eurocarpart or halfords good place for Toyota Alphard parts? I struggled searching on their website
  21. Is Epc the part number list of the car? Where to get the epc? Below? https://toyota-general.epc-data.com/alphard/ How to get "Frame Number" of my car?
  22. Thankyou Rojie. I'll check the car once it arrives if it is digital display or sticker can be added on top. I understand OBD scanner can be placed on dashboard and some GPS based speed calculator with overhead display. Chip if it is for gen 2 and is confirmed to be bullet proof long lasting option I'll go for it. Starting to study options. If car stays in km/h, will be super useful to drive in EU..bonus πŸ™‚
  23. On second thought might be best to secure it πŸ‘
  24. Hi guys I'm importing second generation 2011 3.5L Alphard and wanted to know if and how should I convert the odometer from kilometres to Miles? Part of me wants to keep it as original and install a secondary device to check speed. Some friend said it is a small chip install and integrate well to change speed display. Any expert opinion or expertise / experience to share? Many thanks
  25. I thought Alphard having very little ground clearance (160 mm?) is immune to catalytic convertor theft. Is that not the case? Does 3.5l v6 or hybrids, at their cats same? Or one is more precious?
