  1. Ah is the 10 series a torque converter auto? Thought it was CVT also.
  2. Has anyone come across a set of mats to replace the plush carpet inserts with rubber all weather mats? I can't find anything for the 20 series. I'm tempted to buy a roll of 5mm checker plate rubber and cut my own using the current mats as a template.
  3. Not bad for an na for sure. Would love a map for the box that causes it to used fixed ratios as well!
  4. https://puretuning.net/en/chiptuning-files/toyota/alphard/2-4i-170hp That's the ah20. 170-192bhp
  5. Yeah, the wife's 2.4 is about to become my daily and although I know it drives pretty well, I'd prefer a bit more poke and I don't really want to chop it in for a v6 just yet. The gearbox seems to make a decent stab of giving the feel or a reasonable amount of torque in the low end, but a touch more wouldn't hurt. Celtic appear to offer a map for the 2az in the Alphard, I have emailed an enquiry, I'll see what they come back with.
  6. Has anyone remapped a 2.4? Looks to be c.22bhp/28nm gains on offer in the 170bhp version In the ah20. Seems quite strong gains for an na petrol.
  7. Offset will 100% be incorrect, also I'd suggest the load rating of civic wheels will not be up to the weight of an Alphard.
  8. So you mean park assist in terms of parking sensors rather than self park?
  9. Nope, no buttons that have anything to do with parking other than the PDC on and off button, right hand dash next to the room lights and esc buttons.
  10. Park assist? I don't have park assist, if you mean the car parks it self?
  11. Might not be the whole issue but did you reset the idle speed when you changed the battery? When ours had a new battery it idled very low and pulling off from junctions was very jerky just because the engine was close to stalling speed. Once reset all sorted. If the gearbox is slipping, without stating the obvious it will sound like it's slipping as it's a cvt, but assume it must have been quite bad and if it won't drive now, it could be low on ATF oil....no idea how to check the level but its a serviceable gearbox.
  12. Just noticed I have a camera under the passenger mirror. I have a memory of this being discussed on the forum.....but can't find the thread. I'm assuming it's a view of the passenger kerb rather than 360 degree cam as the driver's side mirror has a puddle light rather than a cam. Anyone point me at which plug behind the dash is that mirror camera, I do have a yellow RCA behind there doing nothing, but I think that was the old front aftermarket camera that has been removed, it dosent look OEM. Anyone know if the android head unit will accept the second camera input along with the reverse cam currently connected? I'd guess it would display both video feeds on the basis that the mirror cam is automatically powered up when reversing?

  14. Lol Grew up in Silverstone, spannered for race teams, including Jordon, various formular Ford and TC teams, owned classics all my life and happily will pull an engine for fun. Had dinner at the Coulthard's and given Eddie Irvine a few lifts over the years. Your life experience should therefore tell you that what you have is not a lemon rather a car that needs a few somewhat minor fixes (head not withstanding) to get sorted. Otherwise go buy a new car.
  15. Springs brake, try owning a Merc Vito/viano, the fronts are an annual service item, heater not working is probably a sticking thermostat, oil leak seems more invasive but at worst a used replacement head can't be that much, few being broken on eBay. To add Just Japanese undertook mechanical work to mine prior to purchase and after in terms of warranty work, collecting and returning the car from Leeds (to Wigan), new springs all round, sorted the steering box worm gear, numerous electrical bits and bobs. Not all importers are equal. You don't mention how old yours is, the mileage, or how long you have had it, it's a used car though, they do tend to need maintaining, some more than others depending on what kind of life they have led.
  16. We got our vellfire from just Japanese and I couldn't have been happier with the sales and the after sales, properly above and beyond. Yes I know I could have got one cheaper by doing it myself but I wanted one now and couldn't wait, also the. At was exactly what my wife wanted (it's her daily), so the additional cost was worthwhile to me. I would certainly consider bringing one over myself next time though, now I know the pitfalls and what needs doing I'd be comfortable doing it myself. Depends on what you want, and how much messing you want to do. If you want one turn key and ready to go, just Japanese would certainly get my vote.
  17. That's the type I was looking for yeah. Where did you get the ACC pick up from, is there somewhere Convenient to tap?
  18. Piggybacking this thread, anyone fitted the switchback led DRL/indicators in a vellfire that don't sent off any canbus issues?
  19. Yeah pretty much Dave, so in the Merc I could either run my rear 2 screens off the heard unit, or each screen could work independently and both had dvd players, they could then wirelessly connect to headphones and each screen could do something different. I'm more inclined to pull my currently redundant OEM rear screen and install a bigger android 17 inch wide screen xtrons roof monitor, the kids can then watch what they want with BT headphones. All that needs is a 12v to the roof and hotspot WiFi connection. Simples
  20. Will depend on the head unit, some support independent rear screen support so you play video to the rear and run nav on the head unit (I had an xtrons in my old Merc viano that could do it) but.....It didn't work with android auto so if AA was connected it would only mirror, I could run video to the back and g maps on the head unit.
  21. Where do you get the plugs to interface to the back of the head unit? AliExpress? I have the reverse camera, on that c block
  22. Yeah seen plenty of em, I am a dubber (air-cooled) so i see alot of camper chat, I can't square the value proposition on the Alphard S10, I get why they are converted, base van price is cheap if you are importing them, they aren't big so you can get a huge conversion in so the profit margin must be super if you are converting to sell on with such high retail prices.
  23. Personally I can't understand the rationale of anyone who will pay £20k for a 20+ year old van (any van) that's been converted to a camper. Pre COVID only VWs commanded scene tax, van or camper alike, seemingly since COVID the price a vehical with a bed in it has sky rocketed no matter who made the base vehical. I usually keep an old Volvo in the stable for dirty duties (dogs, tip runs etc....) currently I have a mint (when I can bothered to clean it) 04 v70 with all the toys, it cost me a grand and causes me no issues and can seat 7 if needs be. When I see these early S10 Alphard that are the same age or older running a price tag north of £8k it blows my mind, then the same vehical with a camper conversion running £20k.... farcical and frankly you are asking for (financial) trouble.
