You can get stronger (firmer) springs, I think someone was selling a pair on here recently for a good price. You’ll need to speak to a suspension expert about modding the damper units; I’d guess that if you’re not changing the firmness too much then you can probably stick with the existing dampers, but if you’re going to make a big change to spring firmness then you might need to change the dampers too. Suspension is a complex field, best speak to a specialist company as even small changes can have a big impact on handling and ride.

I think the engine would have to be running to supply heat; the only other source of energy for the heater system would be the battery but that would quickly go flat, so yes, in common with most if not all cars you will need ignition and engine on for heating. You can install kits designed for campervans but they’re expensive, cheaper to put on a jumper and a hat.

I’m getting about 25-30mpg with my 2005 3L v6 (5 spd) which is what I expected . Toying with the idea of an LPG conversion.

It would be doable but tight, made easier if you turn the middle row around to face backwards.

Just put a multimeter on the battery whilst each door is open and see if the voltage drops, even by a small amount. My guess is That if the key is not in the ignition then there will be no battery drain whether doors are open or not.

Yeah, someone did this on here recently, bought some sort of Kenwood unit for £80, gives dab radio through the standard unit + Bluetooth etc. I wish I’d done that before embarking on my install, which is neat and works but cost a lot more !!

I’ve taken out some panels on the A and B pillars, and I’ve taken out the centre console piece. All came out easily enough but do buy a kit of the right tools from eBay, they’re only about £10, don’t use knives or screwdrivers, you’ll make a right mess. Just go easy, tease each piece out, working methodically around the panel. It’s the putting back in which is more difficult!

There’s a set on eBay now for nearly £300 …. Ouch!

For a Thule kit it’s the bits which bolt onto the roof which are very difficult to get in the UK. There’s a chap called Ben Hau who imports them, I think he’s a bit of an Alphard expert, find him on Facebook and see if he has any in stock. The kit number is Thule Rapid System 1267, for 2003-08 models. You can then fit any of the Thule rapid system feet (loads on eBay, cheap) and any number of Thule standard or Evo bars but need to be at least 135cm width. Good luck.

£330 fitted for a new item, perhaps even OE Toyota, direct from Japan, seems like a v good price. Reckon you’d pay about £100-200 for a used one, so that’s a good price. Fair play to kwik fit if they really can do it for that price.

Well I’ve got a 2005 (55 plate) v6, G spec, and that does have cruise control. Interesting to know there is a max speed on the CC, 70mph will satisfy me - not many stretches of mway in UK where you can cruise for faster than that anyway! Cheers.

If it goes air freight with FedEx or dhl etc then a week is doable, for sure, but that is gonna be mighty expensive overall. Have they given you a cost estimate? I would have just got a used one from eBay. Plenty of Alphard’s being broken for spare parts on eBay.

Well I’m just putting anything in and it seems to be running fine, about 30mpg too. My mate has been doing same with his for a couple of years too, we both have 3.0 v6 models.

Anyone know what volume of coolant required for the V6 Alphard? 1MZ-FE engine, late 2005 model. Cheers, Will
