There is a post on this Forum, somewhere, that provides a website to check if your Alphie needs a recall. I'll try and find it. Basically, through the website you can request full service history from Toyota Japan. There is a small fee. I was told by my local Toyota dealer that they can make the recall enquiry on my behalf. If the vehicle is subject to a recall that has not been performed; Toyota UK make a request to Toyota Japan and, despite your vehicle being a grey import, Toyota Japan will authorise the work AND pay for it ! The process can take quite some time ! I expect all this to happen during my first official Toyota UK service. Have a safe journey.

Thanks for providing the link for this manual. I am sure it will be useful to someone with the same HDD head unit as yourself.

Is that the rear fog light?Rojie replied to Jackie298's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015) Hello Jackie, I don't have the same model year as you. At least one rear fog light is a requirement in the UK. If you need more information try the DVLA website under MOT. As Japanese vehicles, (in Japan) are not required to have rear fog lights, if I had to guess, i would say these are brake lights and running lights combined. Is the vehicle in the UK ? If not, do you have an agent importing it for you ? Otherwise your UK dealer should fit rear fog lights (if these aren't) for you. You will need at least one for the MOT.

Hello Becky, Welcome to this Forum. Hopefully someone will be able to help you soon. Have you checked any fuses ? Do you know where the fuses are ? What model Alphie do you have ? ANH, MNH ? and the trim level MZ, MS, AX, AS, etc. Engine size ? Hybrid ? Knowing these details may help our members to help you. I would recommend you buy an English language manual from eBay asap. FRO396 or FRO3035 for a hybrid. They are worth every penny.

3.0 Catalytic Convertor questionRojie replied to Djakninn's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008) For a reason I am unaware of, the Hybrid versions seem to be the main target. Will you have to reinstall the rear cat for the next MOT ?

Yes there is a way of adding photos. Prepare your photo on your desktop. "Click on the quote line and a drag files here to attach, or chose files" will appear. Drag and drop from your desktop or search your desktop. Should be easy ! Give it a try. And of course press Submit Reply. If you exit before pressing the SR the Forum will not post your contribution, but it will remember it for later use. Good Luck.

Good morning Starider, I am hoping that most of us have legal reflectors, but, if not, I think your idea of mounting them on mudflaps is fantastic. I had be worrying where I would fit additional reflectors, if needed. I had been considering mudflaps anyway as my white paintwork gets very messy behind the front wheel arches on the front doors. I will also have my mains hookup under the car behind the rear wheel arch (out of sight); another reason for a mudflap. I have seen some mudflap sets on ebay that purport to be for Alphies, only £14 (or so) ! Thanks again for sharing such a great idea, Good luck with the fitting process.

Headlight levelling sensorRojie replied to Hydro's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008) I thought I would see how much this cost through the Amayama(?) route. Well done Hydro. I couldn't even find the part in the EPC ! I'm glad it worked out well for you. All that effort and risk, you deserve a happy ending.

Hi Phil, You won't believe this ! I just went outside to check the reflectors on my Alphie. My Alphie is not there ! When you get to my age these things happen ! It is currently locked away in the Convertors premises ! As soon as I can answer your question; I will.

Hello Starider, You raise a very interesting point. Thank you. I have a 2006 Alphie which has two rear fog lights fitted. It does have an MOT. Tonight I will check whether my fog lights are reflective, or not, when illuminated by a torch or headlight. I expect they will be, but if not I will be having some harsh words with the importer of my vehicle. As you say, the DVLA instructions to MOT testers is very clear on this issue.

If both your slide doors are electric; they are independently fused. I think the fuses are in different fuse boxes too ! Are both your slide doors electric; that is you have two separate switches near the steering wheel ?

I may be wrong here, but I believe it can't. Ldrego, who is cuttothechase on youtube, put up a video (he has several) I I believe I recall the early evolution one cannot be modified. The later evolution one can, I believe. Ask Ldrego on here or try and contact though his youtube channel. (He prefers youtube)

Be aware that changing your wheel size could affect you speedo accuracy. It could also alter the clearances within the wheel arches. There is a website, Willtheyfit, that is very useful in planning any wheel tyre size combination changes. Offset is 39mm.

Kwik Fit will test your Alphie Tested my ford for leaks before regassing it. No leaks, you pay for the refrigerant; otherwise they give you a verbal report for to decide what to do, and where to go !

Dewatte, I have a different head unit; but once you have tuned in a station, just press and hold a channel number for a few seconds. I can't remember if it beeps or not. That should preset that freqency to that channel.

Rear suspension camber angle.Rojie replied to starider's topic in Toyota Alphard Camper Discussions Somewhere on this Forum, if my memory serves me, is a technical list of the rear camber geometry. Hopefully, if you search for it, perhaps try camber, you will find it and it ay be of some help.

SupaDave, This is the usual HDD head unit. (Jenny's is far more rare). Try reading eightseaterblog.com for a very good and detailed explanation and understanding of your unit. You can get a frequency expander (£20) that will give you most UK FM stations (but not all). To fit it, the headunit and dash nacelle have to come out. I suspect you have a powerful and close transmitter if you are getting several stations without an expander.
