Engine mounts 2.4 ANH20 engine 2wd.
This is a nice happy posting. First, you managed to do the job yourself. Second, your local Toyota dealer was able to support you. Thirdly, that they would have carried out the work for those of us unable, or unwilling, to so. Thanks for sharing your success and method with us all. Good news all round

Alphard garage in Cornwall?
Hi Ian, I think those are owners manuals. I think Susie needs something more. There is also a guy at Bodmin who is a Toyota trained mechanic. I'll try and find him for you, and get back to you on here.

Alphard garage in Cornwall?
As an afterthought, it may be worth asking if any garage you hope to use has Techstream, the Toyota diagnostic software.

Alphard garage in Cornwall?
Hello Susie, Welcome to the Forum. Very recently, Picasso posted in this Forum that a maintenance manual should be available early next year. Hopefully that would allow you to provide a mechanics with useful information. There is a Toyota dealer in Helston and Truro (actually Newquay), I believe. I use my local Snows in Torbay. Snows have a delearship in Plymouth. try them as I think you will find they are amenable to working on your Alphard. Good Luck.

Toyota Alphard Recall in the UK - Takata Airbag Recall
Hi, the fee I am referring to is for the full service history. I wasn't suggesting there is a fee for the recall information, or corrective action. Sorry for the error. I got myself a bit confused. I'll try and find the site and provide a link for the service history info. As you say the recall link it at the top of this thread, and it works nicely.

For clarity, for you and others; the manuals above are English translations of the Owners Manual. They are not Maintenance Manuals (which I have never seen).

Need a Roof Rack!
Hello, and Welcome to the Forum. I'm the other side of the Bay to you ! I think you will find that roof racks for early Alphards are rare and/or expensive ! Good Luck.

Toyota Alphard Recall in the UK - Takata Airbag Recall
Hi Charlie, I am not sure what corrective action is taken. Whatever action is needed will be funded by Toyota (Japan). You NEED PRIOR authorisation first; otherwise, I guess, you pay the whole bill.

Toyota Alphard Recall in the UK - Takata Airbag Recall
Relief. I checked my vehicle and it appears all necessary (Implemented, rather than Done) work was completed in Japan.

Vellfire - 100v power + VTR console (Help please)
I have taken a different approach on this. I have a 2006, without the theatre system. So, at the back of the front row seat console, I have two 100v outlets and a VTR input (which I hope to use for radio and TV signals to the HDD unit). Alongside these, my convertor (at my request) has fitted a 240v socket; a USB socket and a 12v (cigarette lighter) socket above the 240v outlet. Hopefully, whatever voltage source I need 'up front' I'll have. I think I have identified a siutable cool box with 12v, 100V and 240V input (albeit not all hooked up at the same time). I have planned sufficient room for a fridge, but don't plan on fitting one yet (if ever) as I lose most of my very limited storage space in my rear conversion.

Toyota Alphard Recall in the UK - Takata Airbag Recall
There is a post on this Forum, somewhere, that provides a website to check if your Alphie needs a recall. I'll try and find it. Basically, through the website you can request full service history from Toyota Japan. There is a small fee. I was told by my local Toyota dealer that they can make the recall enquiry on my behalf. If the vehicle is subject to a recall that has not been performed; Toyota UK make a request to Toyota Japan and, despite your vehicle being a grey import, Toyota Japan will authorise the work AND pay for it ! The process can take quite some time ! I expect all this to happen during my first official Toyota UK service. Have a safe journey.

Thanks for providing the link for this manual. I am sure it will be useful to someone with the same HDD head unit as yourself.

Is that the rear fog light?
Hello Jackie, I don't have the same model year as you. At least one rear fog light is a requirement in the UK. If you need more information try the DVLA website under MOT. As Japanese vehicles, (in Japan) are not required to have rear fog lights, if I had to guess, i would say these are brake lights and running lights combined. Is the vehicle in the UK ? If not, do you have an agent importing it for you ? Otherwise your UK dealer should fit rear fog lights (if these aren't) for you. You will need at least one for the MOT.

Headlight fault
Hello Becky, Welcome to this Forum. Hopefully someone will be able to help you soon. Have you checked any fuses ? Do you know where the fuses are ? What model Alphie do you have ? ANH, MNH ? and the trim level MZ, MS, AX, AS, etc. Engine size ? Hybrid ? Knowing these details may help our members to help you. I would recommend you buy an English language manual from eBay asap. FRO396 or FRO3035 for a hybrid. They are worth every penny.

3.0 Catalytic Convertor question
For a reason I am unaware of, the Hybrid versions seem to be the main target. Will you have to reinstall the rear cat for the next MOT ?

Rear fog light conversion
Yes there is a way of adding photos. Prepare your photo on your desktop. "Click on the quote line and a drag files here to attach, or chose files" will appear. Drag and drop from your desktop or search your desktop. Should be easy ! Give it a try. And of course press Submit Reply. If you exit before pressing the SR the Forum will not post your contribution, but it will remember it for later use. Good Luck.

Rear fog light conversion
Good morning Starider, I am hoping that most of us have legal reflectors, but, if not, I think your idea of mounting them on mudflaps is fantastic. I had be worrying where I would fit additional reflectors, if needed. I had been considering mudflaps anyway as my white paintwork gets very messy behind the front wheel arches on the front doors. I will also have my mains hookup under the car behind the rear wheel arch (out of sight); another reason for a mudflap. I have seen some mudflap sets on ebay that purport to be for Alphies, only £14 (or so) ! Thanks again for sharing such a great idea, Good luck with the fitting process.

I thought I would see how much this cost through the Amayama(?) route. Well done Hydro. I couldn't even find the part in the EPC ! I'm glad it worked out well for you. All that effort and risk, you deserve a happy ending.
