right hand sliding door lock mechanism. Part no 69370-58011
kendo replied to kendo's topic in Alphard Buy & Sell
Hi Yes it is available, it is the locking mechanism on the forward part of the right hand door. -
Used, but works ok, rh sliding door lock. I bought and fitted a new one (£70) but that was not the problem. The problem turned out to be the electric unit that unlocks the door prior to it opening. Consequently I am selling the original mechanism as it is perfectly ok. £25 (inc postage in uk) if anyone is interested. 20240410_144810[1].heic

Hi All Further to my problem with the sliding door where you had to hold the door handle open to unlock it before the motor kicks in and also would not open from the remote button on dash. Thanks to mattiewhoo for suggested the black circular box. It was indeed the little motor inside this unit which was faulty. I managed to get a replacement motor from Digikey (Part no Pan14ee12aa1). £19 inc 2 days delivery from USA. The part numbers on matties post 6937058011 are not for this part but the mechanical door lock as photo. 😀 20240410_144810[1].heic 20240410_145016[1].heic

Thanks Smurf and Rojie very useful info. Have now written it down in my manual for future use.👍

Hi I am also looking to find wheel nut torque and brake caliper torque settings, but unable to locate any, have looked on the forum and servicing etc but no joy. I have a Alphard owners manual part no FRO396 but it does not mention torque settings. Hope somebody might know.

thanks for that Mattie i shall look in to it.👍

Hi Jacksonlaws ,no I have not fixed it yet, although the door still works , but just got to hold on to the door handle a couple of seconds longer than normal.
-
Hi All. my sliding door opens if i hold on to the handle for a few seconds, if I just quickly pull the door handle it seems like the latch is not releasing before the motor kicks in.. and therefore door wont open. The motor assembly works ok. the other side works as it should. Any ideas?

Try OPIE OILS and they give you a choice of filters, I usually go for the bosch filter.

all windows open after returning to parked car.

Hi , yes I have remote locks and the buttons all seem ok. Thanks for the reply, Ken. -
Hi ALL,Merry Christmas. My sliding door right side, is very stiff to operate, think the cable needs replacing, are there any tutorials on this? Thanks,Ken.
-
Hi All, my sliding door only shuts to about 70% of the way then opens again. the other side works perfectly. I had this before and found the window was open a bit, shut the window and it worked ok, but this time windows are shut. Also if you turn the power button off and shut the door manually it is quite stiff and will not close fully. I am guessing the (bowden) cable is worn out and catching. Anybody had this problem, before I order a new cable? Kendo.

I appear to have an oil leak from the top of the engine (v6) i think it is from the front cam cover. Anybody have experience of replacing this gasket, or any idea of a good place to take it to be repaired in the Dorset area?

Timing belt
kendo replied to foursail's topic in Questions on Buying a Toyota Alphard or Vellfire in the UK.
If the car has a timing belt, and is fifteen years old with no history of it being changed, I would definitely have it changed ASAP. This advice is the general advice for any make of car,Japanese or European. Good luck. foursail. -

Dealer Personal Recommendation
kendo replied to Alphard Club's topic in Recommend a Dealer / Garage / Importer
I would certainly recommend Charlie at Prodrift UK at Edenbridge in Kent. I bought my Alphard from him last year and have been really impressed with the quality of the car. Over a year on and still really pleased with it, it certainly does pay to buy the best you can afford.😄 -
I would not buy a Alphard with lowered suspension, because the ride quality of these vehicles as standard is superb and one of the many reasons i bought one in the first place. Also as you say ,potholes, speed humps and with a camper conversion with the extra weight it would not be great. Lowered vehicles look great if you just want to show but thats all. Dont forget you would have to inform the insurers.

Thanks for the reply MonsterS. Looks like the led lights I have got are an aftermarket item (no part numbers or name), eventually I have found some on ebay, not quite the same size but slightly bigger, will have to modify the outer mirror case to fit, hopefully will go ok.
-
Just noticed the plastic lens covering the led lights in the door mirror is missing. Have tried everywhere to get replacement light unit or cover, but no luck. Anybody got any ideas where to get one?
-
Hi Adrian I like the look of that Alphard. Are you the Adrian in Winchester that did a really good job of undersealing mine last year?
-
Thanks MonsterS for the reply, glad to know there is somebody out there. I have found some on ebay eventually, will see if there the right ones when they arrive.🤞
