Extremely good point IF you make any modifications to your vehicle, without disclosure your insurance could be invalidated. This includes, of course, conversions and the addition of non OEM wheel and tyre combinations.

After a little more research, I believe you will need a different dash cluster; certainly the main one as that is where there the radar 'graphic symbols' appear. They is an additional LCD above the usual odometer.

I regret to admit that my approach to oiling the struts has not improved their operation. (Struts, not tailgate hinges; which did respond to WD40). I intend to use some silicone spray and hopefully that will cure the uneven opening. (I am considering disconnecting the linkage to test the motor response, but without a real load I am not sure the test is meaningful.) For those with deep pockets, my local Alphard friendly main dealer advises me that the K type units, as fitted to my Alphie, are still available.. Great news ? Not really ! Close to £200 each, but genuine Toyota OEM. I confess, I am so irritated by the juddering I may speak nicely to Santa.

Most official Toyota Dealers will not go near grey imports. That is why garages like Snows are so useful for routine planned work, because they will. I understand Plymouth is some way from you, but the Barbican is a nice place to visit while Snows work on your Van. Or Dyernostics are close to you (Bodmin), I am sure they can take care of routing servicing.

Yes, Jackery (or some other brand) is a great idea

You can use them on under your windscreen but the efficiency is way lower as your windscreen will block much of the UV. Some charging current is better than none. Just Kampers sell a foldable solar panel for windscreen use, but not cheap. You would also need a cigarette socket fitted that is not wired through the ignition switch. What fridge do you have ? What current does it draw ? Another option would be a 3 way fridge, but then you will need to have room for the gas cylinder ! And another, less satisfactory, option is a substantial chest type cool box partially filled with 'frozen freezer bricks'

I respectfully suggest you try and find a source for the radar emitter and receiver before pursuing this. Even if the wiring loom is already there, without the sensors...... I am guessing, but I expect OEM sensors will be very expensive.

Gen 1 is 70 litres. My guess is Gen 2 is similar; so 4. litres sounds about right.

Perhaps you should call DyerNostics, in Bodmin. He is a Toyota trained specialist concentrating, I believe, on engines. But.... I understand it is not a difficult job, but the axle needs to come down. Give him a call, nothing to loose. Other than that call Snows in Plymouth, they will work on you van.

Hello Suzzie, Welcome to the Forum. Lithium batteries are not cheap ! How often will you be off grid for 7 days ? Water pump should not deplete battery much, unless you shower all the time. Solar power will need charger circuits, plus, of course, the panels need to be fixed to the pop top (if you go that route). Some folks get rigid panels for beside the van. I which case you just need somewhere to store them while on the move. Part time generator if you are way off grid, not cheap either !
