I don't think you should worry too much about the timing belt. You can always have it replaced, but a 29k vehicle should not need one. They can last forever. My local Toyota dealer suggested change at 100k miles. If the belt snaps you will be stranded, but it is a non interference engine; meaning the valves will not hit the pistons. I suggest you check whether it has a four speed or five speed gearbox. With petrol prices as they are.......

I have a front (exterior) blind like this one. I can supply the brand to anyone interested. Would I recommend it ? YES. Just a bit fiddly to fit, and both doors cannot be fully opened while the blind it is fitted. But one at a time, a door can be partially opened. I think North Star on the IOW do curtain sets. Not sure about rails etc, being included.

Hi, Thanks for this, all part of the knowledge bank. Quite local to me too. Not using a stainless part in drinking water is rather naughty, and extremely mean ! Flimsy table legs are common. If it is the type I am thinking, same as the one I have, a major benefit is that they can be removed and reattached to the rear of a rear conversion. Hugely beneficial when catering ! Of course, you will need a suitable rail fitted to the rear of the 'kitchen'.

Turning circle on my Gen 1 is about 5.5 metres, pretty good for a 5 metre long vehicle, imho. I realise delivery vans probably have a tighter circle, but mine does not drive like a delivery van !

Seeing this photo reminded me that most commercial 'signwritten' vans nowadays are carrying vinyl 'artwork' not the painted type of old. Accordingly, they must be hundreds of suppliers of custom designs.

Do you mean dimming the light that passes through the windscreen, or blocking the UV. Many windscreens nowadays are laminated, as is mine in the Alphie. Vehicular laminated glass often has an invisible plastic film that blocks most of the UV anyway. If you start tinting windscreens or front door door windows, you will probably attract a lot of attention from the police

It should be on front of the B door pillar, passenger side, half way up. It won't look like a European VIN, because it isn't ! The format on mine is 00nnnnn, where n is a 0 to 9 digit.

Do they swivel ? Are they Captains middle seats from a 7 seater, or the set (2 and a half) from an eight seater ?

I think the spare tyre situation is one of the (many) quirks of an MOT. If it is there it must be legal, but if it isn't it's OK. Although somewhat unwise not to carry a spare, not having one is quite legal

Hi Wozzer, I agree with Picasso. There is nothing wrong with the 2.4 engine, but it has that 4 speed. The auto is OK too; but the combination is a bit thirsty. On a long journey the benefit from a 5 speed is noticeable. Some owners go for LPG conversions. With the price of petrol now it is worth considering the type of miles you will be covering (and your driving style) Either way, the Alphies are a very nice ride

Perhaps I missed your point, but I don't have any external fixtures. If you go way off grid, you may need a satellite set up. Is that what you are alluding to ? An internal satellite system ?
