  1. I was wrong ! I believed some video I had watched; or my memory is giving out ! Oil filter is on front of engine; under the exhaust manifold.
  2. Hello Julian, Welcome to the Forum. Good to hear you are very pleased with your purchase from an Alphard Club member. Happy Alpharding
  3. Are you anywhere near Ashwater ? Starider is there and may be able to help you. He is ex auto trade. I believe the oil filter is 'behind' the engine nearest the firewall; not the easiest to get too. Many other members do self servicing, so I am sure you will plenty of advice.
  4. Hello Owen, Welcome to the Forum.
  5. Hello Richard, Welcome to the Forum.
  6. Did you check the Insurance thread on this Forum ? Adrian Flux are not normally the most reasonably priced insurance brokers.
  7. Geralt is correct. For the benefit of V6 owners; it it only the 3 litre V6 that has a belt (not the 3.5). However, the engine is a non interference design . So what ? If the belt breaks on a non interference engine the valves will not hit the pistons and wreck the engine. You will break down, and you will need a new belt and need to get it fitted and timed correctly. The above is not true if the engine 'drops' a valve. Either way, if you have a V6 get the cam belt changed, if needed, or risk a stranding.
  8. Hello Fred, Welcome to the Forum
  9. Hello Jethro, Welcome to the Forum.
  10. Are they the original shape ? The photo is not an Alphard, so proceed with care. Let is all know if you buy some .
  11. You won't be disappointed
  12. The manual I recommend is an Owners Manual. It will not help you with many of the above issues. It will show you fuse box locations, and which fuses are in which boxes; and all the fuse ratings. I have already messaged you, privately, through the forum. As a member of Staff, I have access to your email address. The benefit of not using Private Messaging is that all our members can read your issues and offer their suggestions. The Manual does contain instructions on how to operate the seat manually. I am no auto electrician. My standard advice to anyone with electrical gremlins is to ensure your starter battery is in tip top condition and is fully charged. Check also the battery terminals too. There is little point in progressing without checking those fuses. I am reluctant to offer any advice that may have a detrimental effect. I have read that disconnection the battery for a couple of hours, and reconnecting may allow the various ECUs to reset. I could send you the written part of the manual, privately,; but it would be quite a task. But without the illustrations it may not be much use. Read my previous private mail, it lists the tools you will to work on the seat. Where are you in OZ; your nearest city ?
  13. I'm sorry to contradict Chris.ac here. Either Chris may have made a small error, or a small typo. If a typo, 2007 should read 2005. My 2006 V6 is ULEZ compliant according to the TFL website. I did use my registration to confirm this. Other cities may have different requirements.
  14. Some of the larger companies are planning to withdraw from supplying LPG. Some have already withdrawn. So there is a trend. However, I would have thought, living where you do, in a large conurbation, supplies should be available for quite some time yet. Check out the major company websites, Shell, BP, Exxon (Esso), etc; even the supermarkets. Most will exit the market after providing some reasonable notice. One other point to consider, is how long you expect to keep the vehicle ?
  15. I think you can look up any charges on the TFL website, if harrow falls with their area.
  16. Hello Rach, Welcome to the Forum
  17. I agree with Geralt and WD40, but would just like to point out that WD40 produce more than one product.
  18. Hhmm. Very interesting. Worth a read, imho, if you tow. Seems to refer to towing, as opposed to bike racks mounted on tow hitches. Having a tow hitch cannot be illegal but, in some cases, using it might be ! If it is ambiguous to us, is it ambiguous to the Police and the Courts ? Glad I don't tow a trailer.
  19. Sorry, I forgot to reply. Try Fuel Lagoon.
  20. Hello Sharon, Welcome to the Forum. Since Brexit I am confused about how UK Taxes operate in Northern Ireland, and what is taxable and what is not ! Have you seen the vehicle yet ? Have you had an AA or RAC Inspection ? Is the vehicle already registered in the UK ? Does it have a current MOT ? If buying from a business you will have to pay VAT, which should be included in the price. Make sure. Are you buying from a registered dealer that is a registered limited company ? You MUST get a VAT receipt for safety. You need to talk to HMRC in Ireland to be sure. Imho, you will not be liable for Customs; any due should have been paid already. BUT, if buying from a business you will have to pay VAT, if buying privately you will not. If buying from a dealer you will have the normal Consumer Law protection, If buying privately you will not. Indeed only companies and individuals registered with HMRC can (legally) charge VAT. Hope this is helpful in raising questions. Talk with HMRC or visit their website, just to be sure.
  21. is the seat 'stuck' in its normal position for travelling ?
  22. As Pete says above. The windows are easy to reset, if that is what is needed. If you have a moon roof, you may need to do the same to reset that. Much to my surprise, there is a section on these seats in the JPNZ manual (Recommended for all Gen 1 owners). However, there is no mention of Welcab in the text. I will have a good read of your problems, and the Owners Manual, asap and contact you privately. I cannot copy the pages into here due to copyright infringement regulations.
  23. Try NorthStar on the IOW. They certainly do (or did) them for the Gen 1 models.
