  1. Great to hear you have overcome Alphie's suitability issues There have been a couple of threads about seat covers on this forum You could try and search this forum or try Amayama. I also have a vague recollection that Picasso has some. Sorry to both if I'm wrong !
  2. I think as the Alphard and Vellfire become more popular dealers are beginning to realise how much potential business they could be failing to secure. As awareness of the commonality between Lexus, Camry and other Toyota part bins is increasing the perceived difficulty is diminishing. I am interested in how your dealer would distinguish between repair and maintenance. I assume unwilling to repair means, in this case, an unwillingness to replace suspension parts, etc. Servicing being restricted to fluids and filters ?
  3. I agree with Geralt, as long as it meets DOT 3 you should be OK.
  4. Hello Peter, Welcome to the Forum. Yes, there can be. The cables can become tight, or snag or even snap. They are not cheap to replace ! The soft close motors can fail but this is far less prevalent. There are tips on how to fix the issue within this forum. So more reading required. You don't state the age of the van you are interested in, or the mileage. I'll send you a PM.
  5. Perhaps Chris.ac
  6. I used to travel in France and Spain for many years. I was with Saga at the time, but not with the Alphie. I thought they offered exceptional cover.

Joseph is an importer of many years. I believe there is a workshop adjacent to his Sales area. You should find that Snows (of Plymouth, Torbay and Exeter) will work on your van, although most Main Dealers won't! Replacing the bolt may not be enough. The pan may need removing and the gasket, assuming there is one, replacing. Imho, not an expensive job for Snows. Good Luck
  8. Hello Tristan, Have your tried the Servicing Section of this forum ? There is a list in there
  9. God luck. It is difficult to get to. You will need a mirror.
  10. Send your VIN or registration to Picasso, he will get you the part number
  11. Hello Paul, Welcome to the Forum. Which light ?

Hello Keiron, Welcome to the Forum. Engine oil pan, or auto transmission pan ? Whether you bought it from Topsham Car Sales or not, you could ask Joseph for an opinion.
  13. Hello David, Welcome to the Forum
  14. I believe this will have a full width bed, 5 feet or thereabouts. It states petrol in Mark's profile; and it cannot be a diesel. Those middle seats will rotate to face rearwards too.
  15. Hello, Welcome to the Forum and Alpharding
  16. No, they don't. The 1 and 1/2 plus one seats do rotate, but are only found on the Gen 1 machines; up to 2008. If you must have rotating seats forget the MZ G edition and any other version with only four seat rails. The rotating seats sit on 5 seat rails. I believe the later models do not have rotating seats.
  17. Does look interesting, doesn't it ? Rather expensive to 'take a chance' on. Nor does it say anything about UV protection.
  18. Hello Gary, Welcome to the Forum. Welcome to Alphard ownership and Campharding.
  19. Hello Michael, I am sincerely sorry to hear about your continuing story of woe with your Alphie. With the greatest of respect, I think your accident record is the issue with insurance. Without doubt insurance premiums have risen. But I have read, in this forum, of many members who have received increases but not by much; including myself. I was insured with Aviva for a very reasonable premium until I have my van converted. When I informed Aviva of the 'modifications' they asked me to find another insurer and gave me a reasonable time to do so. I hope that another year will give you plenty of time to find another insurer; perhaps you should try not going through your broker. Try LV, they have several subsidiaries that do insure Alphards. Good Luck, and hopefully enjoy a years motoring in your Alphie.
  20. Have you tries Amayama ?

Hello Sam, Welcome to the Forum. This topic has been covered previously. I respectfully suggest you perform some searching in this forum to gain some clarity.
  22. Those rearmost seats are heavy !
  23. Not really. It is an original feature of the car; so that aspect would have been considered by the designers. However, it is the immobiliser; so you can't immobilise (sorry couldn't resist) it; and shouldn't want to!). The symbol, I believe, is the silhouette of a car in black, with a white key inside.
  24. There are two or three MEGATHREADS. You can search on your home page. Or you could search through Teekay's history.
  25. Very WELL DONE Julian, I applaud your persistence. I am so pleased for you and the outcome.
