  1. Yes I was. Sorry, I didn't read the advert properly. It seems to be for just the sensor. Your vehicle is far to new for me to have knowledge of. I thought the kit was an after market fitment. You could try Amayama.
  2. Hello Adele, I believe some of the pre face lift Gen 1 machines had these fitted. Perhaps a (Alphard) scrap yard could help. Alternatively, the plastic rails are available if you keep a sharp eye on ebay (possibly Amazon too). You could try and locate the correct part numbers from Toyota/Alphard/epc.com Or, perhaps, ask picasso to do that for you.
  3. TMPS Warehouse, 46 quid.
  4. Hello dave, Welcome to the Forum.
  5. Hello Brandon, Welcome to the Forum. Most people "in the know" tend to advise against buying the early Hybrids. Batteries being the usual issue. Battery repairers are scarce in the UK, let alone Canada. You are lucky as this topic is covered within this forum. So you have lots of reading to do ! One of our members recently imported a complete set of batteries, had them fitted, and is very happy with the result EXCEPT FOR THE PRICE. About 9k UKL ! I'll try and find his thread / topic and advise. Michael Brown, and his posting is very recent
  6. Hello John, Welcome to the Forum.
  7. Hello Mandy, Can you please attach a photo to help us identify your unit and help you. If you have an HDD head unit you may find eightseaters.blogspot. com useful. I often recommend the JPNZ Owners Manual to members. It can be extremely helpful. The one thing (there may be others) it is not particularly helpful with is Head Units ! Have you tried Google translate on a mobile phone ?
  8. Hello Chad, Another member recently started a thread on this subject. The search box is on your home page at the top right corner.
  9. Hello Nick, Welcome to the Forum. I don't agree with your assumption that they 'frequently fail'. I feel quite certain I haven't read about any failing in this forum. I have read about many being replaced, but that is quite different as many wish to upgrade the head unit facilities / functions. As a retired Electronics Engineer I can assure you running any amplifier at, or near, full volume is just asking for trouble. There are a very few amplifiers or loudspeakers that can withstand that treatment. Most audio amplifiers will generate increasing levels of distortion (crackling) as maximum power / volume is approached. That distortion frequently destroys speakers. My advice ? Before spending 'many pennies' on a 'new' multi-channel amplifier I would have the speakers checked first. If all channels are effected equally you may have a preamplifier problem, i.e. the head unit. Try not to jump too quickly to conclusions; you will need a logical approach to resolve this without spending unnecessarily. Good Luck, I hope it goes well for you.
  10. and, Wait a couple of minutes before reconnecting. You may need to reset you windows and moon roof too.
  11. OK. Will the vehicle be on your drive, or on private land ? I have a vague recollection, that I read somewhere, that if you do this on a public road, or public place you will be committing an offence. I have an earlier vehicle with the smart fob option. If I walk away with the smart key fob all the doors will lock. I have never tried this with the engine running ! If I use the normal remote key for the ignition, and have the smart key with me; it could be possible, but I have not tried this either. However, these vehicles are so smart (pun intended), it would not surprise me if the vehicle would 'intervene'. Somewhere in this forum there is a thread regarding 'remote starting' which, it would appear, is what you are trying to achieve. The search box is on your home page, top right corner. Good Luck.
  12. I don't really understand your question. Can you rephrase it please to clarify. Is your vehicle fitted with a remote start option ? Is your key a remote key or a smart key fob ?
  13. How long have you had the vehicle ?
  14. Recommended , on a Gen 1 vehicle, is 95.
  15. A trickle charger is a great idea if you park on your drive. On the road, not so great.
  16. Hi Mick, I have an earlier model than you. My Owners Handbook does not specify XL tyres. As I have rear conversion I have XL fitted at the rear. XL tyres will harden the ride slightly.. Imho, you do not need XL tyres, unless you have several children with mountains of gear ! Perhaps a Gen 2 owner can refer to their Owners Manual and advise us. My guess is, XL not required.
  17. IMHO this is not the way to go . Are we talking starter battery or leisure battery ? Either way, I believe Lithium batteries need a different charging regime than Lead Acid or Gel. A starter battery needs to deliver very high current without damaging itself. I believe the properties and discharge characteristics of the three technologies are quite different. Not sure the Toyota alternators are suitable for Lithium technology. Interesting though, I need to research this.
  18. Thank you for the compliment, but I am not an expert. We do have Club Members that are far more knowledgeable than I. I won't name them here, but they know who they are. We are all learning from each other. Isn't that the reason we all contribute to this Forum ?
  19. Hello Gary, Welcome to the Forum.
  20. Most official Toyota Dealers will not support grey imports. However, some do; so contact your local dealer and ask. Other Forum members will tell you, for the most part, any competent mechanic should be able to perform a routine service, and some of the more major part replacements.
  21. I love the Physics: but different materials have different temperature coefficients ! Some positive, some negative ! I agree that the effect of the temp coeff is insignificant. Sam, you need your battery testing, under load; sooner rather than later, as Geralt suggests. If your battery is failing, slow door action is likely to be the last of your problems.
  22. Tanya Batteries provide a mail order service.
  23. Yes it can. It appears your alternator is OK. Sounds like your starter battery is on the way out. It needs to be tested under load (Kwik Fit, or Halfords; you don't have to buy from them). Tanya Batteries offers a good mail order service. You will soon discover whether it is your battery, or not, as the cold winter mornings are almost upon us all. You must maintain your battery at full charge otherwise all sorts of Gremlins start appearing.
  24. OK, so we have some Gremlins here ! The file is .docx not .docs as stated above. I have now been able to open it, by double clicking. On my aged PC, the file opens as a tab (top right in my case). Clicking on that opens it into my Word processor, an equally ancient Word 2010 ! I will unlock this thread and try again from outside the hold environment. If the file is reachable fine, if not it will be locked again. Note to Gazza, You should be able to copy and paste from the Word file to this editor (below, attach, or choose files).
