Spare parts
Hello Susan, Welcome to the Forum. I would have thought it very unusual for an exhaust manifold to be "gone". Do you mean cracked ? If so it may be weldable. Or perhaps an exhaust gasket has failed. Has a qualified mechanic diagnosed the problem ? Send a PM to Ldrego to ask if he can help. He is Cuttothechase on youtube.

Passenger side fuse box - minor rant and request for advice
It is advisable to ensure you have replacement fuses before you even contemplate starting. Failure to do so will inevitably lead to much more cursing and swearing ! I believe Starider reported in a separate thread that you will need micro-fuses.

Error code 202 on screen when trying to use VTR input
Those sockets should take video as well, although I am not sure at what resolution. Again, it will be analogue signals. I had plans to use the sockets but went down the route of an HD Laptop instead (running from a leisure battery). I was surprised when I loaded a Region 2 DVD into the HU (and it played) as I believe the Japanese use NTSC, whereas the UK uses PAL. Quality isn't good, hence the HD PC; and of course the video won't play when on the move (not that I wanted it to) but the sound works fine. Incidentally, the video interlock can be overcome.

Error code 202 on screen when trying to use VTR input
Does your phone output RCA level analogue signals ? I am not a mobile phone user ! I would check your phone manual to ensure the output you are using is RCA compatible.

Error code 202 on screen when trying to use VTR input
Hello Mick, Welcome to the Forum. Try Google Translate, on your mobile phone for the screen messages. What source are you using? ? Are you sure it is outputting RCA level analogue signals Presumably that remote is for the source; as it isn't for the head-unit. Are you using the 100v outlets which are switched from the dash ?

Swivelling rear seats
Hello Judy, Rear seats ? Do you mean middle seats ? The rear seats don't swivel, but they should lift to the upright position; against the van sides. The middle seats may swivel depending on your seat configuration. Is your van a 7 seater or 8 seater ? On the 7 seater the middle seats do not swivel.

Picasso should be able to help you with this. Wait a couple of days for him to view it. Otherwise send your VIN to him by PM.

Stripped interior
I believe, somehow, it is operated by a unit behind the offside rear wheel arch. I don't have any photos from my convertor, but I do remember there is no room in that area; it is packed with 'kit'. Sardines comes to mind !

Cruise Control
Chris.ac is very knowledgeable on this subject (among many other subjects). I believe that in order to work the cruise control system needs to actuate the throttle electrically. The early Gen 1 vehicles do not have an electrically operated throttle body. Whether an electrically operated one can be retro fitted is beyond my knowledge. Send Chris a PM if he doesn't respond to this thread. The simple cruise control, by my definition, simply tries to maintain the set speed. The complex system, uses RADAR to maintain the above AND a given distance to the vehicle in front. The simple system is not linked to the braking system, the complex system is I apologise if you already know all this !

Alphard to Vellfire headlights swap?...
Does the target Alphard for purchase have the AFS option ? Lights turn with the steering ? If so, it may be a complication for you ?

Hello Haresh, Welcome to the Forum. Do you need the part number, or the place to buy from. A better photo would be helpful. Try Amayama if you already know the part number.

Side kit
There is a flatpack supplier in North Devon. Barnstaple Bideford area. Whether they do the 'woodwork' for side conversions I do not know I believe they can supply sinks, hobs, rock and Rollers, etc.

Cruise Control
Hi Alex, Bit out of my depth here, but ... I think the assembly behind the front bumper is the distance / radar control. I also believe it is very expensive to retro fitif at all possible on the early Gen 1. I also believe that the 'simple cruise control. can be retrofitted to the Gen 1 facelift, but not the prior model. Unless you are considering changing the manual throttle body for the fly by wire version ! I have no idea what is involved installing that update. Good Luck.

Swing Out Carry System
Unfortunately, this photo does not appear to show the swinging mechanism; just the load carrying straps. Alphies don't have that wide door frame to attach the load bearing anchor plates to. I have seen swing systems on other Toyotas, but not Alphards. Good Luck.

Swing Out Carry System
Hello William, Welcome to the Forum. Welcome to Alphard ownership and Camparding. I have never come across a 'swing out' system suitable for an Alphard. The conventional way of carrying bikes, with or without a storage box, is by fitting a tow bar. Several members have done this, but availability can be difficult.

Audio stopped working
No. I don't believe they do. Gen 1 certainly don't. Almost certainly some after market gizmo, DVD. Digital TV. I don't know what you are measuring, but it is certainly not the output impedance of an analogue amplifier channel.

New owner, car just landed - help with to do list!
Pete provides a very comprehensive list. The non interference is very important. Although owners should not rely on that design feature rather than having the belt changed (V6 only); especially if you intend long distance travel as you will still face a long distance flat bed recovery ! Battery voltage, a battery voltage of about 10.5 is likely to be a shorted cell and will never receive or hold, a full charge. I particularly like Pete's suggestion about having the kilometre reading witnessed, by an independent, prior to fitting the chip conversion.
