Rojie replied to Gregster's topic in Toyota Alphard Hybrid (2002 - 2008)
Greg, I have changed your vehicle to the hybrid version. There is a section on the Forum for Servicing and Repairs. I have not checked it for you; but you may find, in that section, a garage near you that may be able to help you You may also wish to search the Forum for hybrid specialists, although it may not be a problem associated with the hybrid system. I understand that being without a (reliable) vehicle is stressful. The best advice I can give you is to be patient, for a day or two, to allow members to read your post, and, hopefully, make some helpful suggestions. I am not a Hybrid owner so cannot directly help you myself, otherwise I would. -

Hello Chris, Welcome to the Forum -
Hello Jackie, You are quite correct. Imports are dated from their date of manufacture. not the date they are imported to the UK. DVLA will tell you what class they place your vehicle in, MPV from memory, and what road tax you must pay. I would check my documents but have absolutely no idea where they have been put (long story). Are you importing the vehicle yourself ? Is that what you mean by calculator ? If so, I don't have any experience of that process. Finally, thanks for your thanks, but I don't run the Forum . The membership does that, and they do it very well.

Hello Jackie, Welcome to the Forum. Not sure of the tax bracket as it is an import. About 295pa

Hello Kelly, There is a Buy and Sell section on the Forum. I have moved your topic there. Please note. There are requirements specified for your ad. Please read the requirements and add all the information required; otherwise your thread will be removed.

You cannot change the HDD unit to English, that is why Eightseater.blogspot.com is so helpful. For this reason alone, and there are others, many members upgrade to a newer head unit. If you do, be cautious you don't lose some of the steering wheel controls (if they matter to you). I find the OEM cameras very useful if a little low definition. The reversing camera is especially useful.

No apology is necessary. No defence is needed. We are all trying to help each other in good faith. My view is, that "usual Maintenance Manual" is too strong a description. Any members purchasing this publication (from wherever) are likely to be disappointed if looking for any 'mechanical or electrical' procedures. As a general guide it is very good indeed and, vitally, is the English language version. I actually know who imports these manuals. That person has been trying to expedite the Maintenance Manual version for some time now, alas, to date, to no avail. I will contact the importer and obtain a progress report. Let us hope there is progress being made. As a postscript, I should add, I have no financial interest in, or benefit from, the JPNZ Owners Manual.

Sorry to contradict Chris, but it is an Owners Handbook/Manual. It is not a Maintenance Manual, and does not contain any strip down / repair information. It does contain lots of very useful information, fluid capacities and types, Tyre pressure, sizes, etc. It contains fuse locations and amperage, where switches are and what they do, etc, etc. It is a must have, imho, but will not help you diagnose or repair your vehicle. Nor does it provide any maintenance schedules or methods.

I have Toyota vellfire car I just bought it on may 28th2023
Rojie replied to Amina's topic in General Chat
Are you able to provide us with a photo of your key fob, please ? I have an earlier version than yourself, but am giving this some thought. Was a working rear hatch (by remote) demonstrated to you before you bought your van ? On my van, an earlier model, I have two switches by the steering wheel. Left hand side of the wheel on mine, and quite low down. Not easily seen from the normal driving position One is an electric door disabling switch, and the other operates the rear hatch. Do you have the rear hatch switch; and have you tried it to open your rear hatch ? It should close it too. Gibbs Automotive are at London Rd, Whitley, Coventry CV3 4AN -

Hello again Amina, You could contact Gibbs Automotive, Coventry, if you have no success with the seller. I have requested a member assist you, if they can, so don't be surprised if you are contacted by him. He will have to contact you through this Forum, if he does at all, as he does not have your personal details. Do not publish your personal details in this topic. It is NOT private. -

Hello Amina, Welcome to the Forum. So sorry to hear you have problems so soon after purchase. Did you buy privately ? If not, take it back to the business you bought it from; have them repair it . Otherwise, please read our Servicing Section where members are encouraged to make recommendations for servicing and repairs There must be a competent business near you. Good Luck. If you bought from a business, and they won't help you, send a private message to me and I will assist if I can. I will certainly check the recommended business sellers within this Forum. -
I have problems opening this type of file sometimes, on a PC. These opened first try !

Considering new purchase
Rojie replied to Amicipat's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Just a small point to add to your decision making process. How many miles per year do you cover, or expect to cover as a single car family ? Consumption only really matters when you cover more miles. Put another way, if you anticipate not doing many miles the cost saving on fuel (if there is any) will be grossly outweighed by the additional expense of upgrading. Full disclosure. I am the type that runs vehicles for at least 10 years. -

Rojie replied to Amicipat's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
There is an interesting thread on this Forum where members declare and compare the consumption they get. There are, of course, many variables; but there are many opinions that the consumption isn't that different. Having more gears will make a difference though. Good luck, whatever you decide to do. -

Hello Patricia, If you are dissatisfied with the issues with your Alphie, it is entirely understandable you want to take this opportunity to upgrade. You are extremely fortunate to live so close to one of the best Alphard suppliers. North Star Conversions. They are, in my opinion, in the 'top league'. Sat Nav is a simple issue to deal with. Discrete units can be bought; they will not fit neatly into your dash console (which can be an advantage) but are easy to use. -

So Gerry, I just checked the DVLA. What section did you receive a Fail for ? Section 7.8 seems to be the relevant one, as far as I can determine. (I have not read them all !). Possible "Operation Impaired"; but it isn't, is it. There was no mention of the speedo having to read kilometers too ! Try persuasion then go walkies to another station and ask them first before paying any fee !

Hello Patricia, So you have an Alphie and want to buy another one ? Possibly trading in your current one. I think you should reconsider your direction. What would I do ? Firstly, I would list the niggly things on this Forum, and await responses. This Forum is exceptional at offering advice / solutions. Not always right first time but often are. You may be able to rectify your issues far more cheaply than replacing your Alphie. My only observation of your Alphie is that it has a four speed gearbox. 2005 to 2008 had 5. Later models models have 6, probably more on the very latest models. There are many recommendations, on this Forum, for the better dealers. Check out the relevant section.- If you intend to use your insurance pay-out to 'trade-up'; many informed members will advise you to go for the latest model you can afford. Good Luck and Happy hunting.
