Newbie, Taking Time TO Buy
3L is a great vehicle. you can convert to LPG. Theres power and it's super comfy. LPG Conversion will depend if you can get LPG on your trip down to spain. alot of people are converting their alphards to campers and not a complaint about it. If you have any precise questions let us know.

Help buying an Alphard
- Do dealers have to provide auction/export certificates? If it is missing, is it a problem? maybe, sometimes they forge the documents. (rare occasion) However it will give a detail list of the vehicle state. - How much did you pay for your road tax? Do you get any subsidy for hybrid versions at all? most vehicles are the same tax bracket I pay £240 ish a year for a 3L 2003 model. - Insurance: How much did it cost you on average? for me its £400 a year but thats because i've got 5 years no claims only. - I live in Islington Council in London. Their parking permit goes by Co2 emission. Does anyone have a model report on 2007 Alphards 2.4L engine for me to refer to for permit applications? Or to advice them on this? (https://www.islington.gov.uk/parking/parking-permits/parking-permit-costs-table) sorry can't help on that one. - Would you recommend changing the speedometer and/or odometer? there are simple kits to change from KPH to MPH but most importers can do this for you. - I am considering converting this Alphard to a camper at some point - any particular garage you recommend for this? there are a few. i'll leave that for someone else who's had it done. - How often should you service it and can you just bring it to any garage? when you get it have a full service done including underseal. - Parts - how easy are they to find should things go wrong and can you use other Toyota equivalents? You can get Toyota direct to send them or use an app called autodoc on android or ios store. you put in your vehicle model and it will show all the parts.

Converting computer/radio to English
You can't. If you change the head unit you will lose lane control and front camera and surround sound.

Removal of back seats on 2003 Alphard
There are bolts, really easy to remove. But you need to remove panels and carpet to remove rails etc.

Oh. Which pads do you buy? the ones in the UK wear out really quickly. (could be my lead foot). Also do you have the original head unit in the van? trying to figure out mine, at the moment it's just play dvd's and cd's but i would like to wipe the hard disk and add my own songs. i've got the nh3t-w55 so if you know the button combo to change it that would be amazing.

Gearbox problem
clutch engaging failure i would think looking into it that the cable is disconnected or came unplugged. find the wires on the gearbox if you can get under the van and have a look it may save you £££ instead of taking to a garage. I would then take plugs off the gearbox and clean them then put them back on. Follow those wires to where they connect to the van and clean the contacts. then clear all the error codes using the diagnostic equipment. (or disconnect the battery for 2 hours)..
