Power door Issues
Hi Steve, Not personally got these doors/ though on my estima (before the alphard) we had issues with the contacts in the door switches for the automatic motor. I stripped them down and used some fine sandpaper on the contacts as they just got gunged up with crap. Might be worth doing some tlc to the contacts of the handles.

Hi, English New Zealander here
Welcome and very nice
-
Has anyone got 1 of these?
No. I would make my own on photobox or a similar site. would be cheaper. So You are from trowbridge nice close to bristol than most members If i was you i would stick Super unleaded in your tank or convert to LPG for better mileage.

Newby

Hi!
We have a 3.0l v6 and get around 18 - 30 mpg fantastic vehicles. We had an estima before and this blows it out of the water. Things to consider. Find a good dealer (or import yourself) then get the following works done. Underseal Full service including (cam, water pump and filters) optional (new head unit) though i've stuck the same one as i dont see a point changing it. Otherwise they do not need much looking after and are fantastic vehicles. same engine as the RS300 lexus so mechanics can work on the them easily.

Unit under passenger seat
Very nice. I would also do the following: headlight restorer on the front lights and the front camera (if you have one) Then seal them. Our front lights were spot less and bright then about 3 weeks later started to go yellow really quickly.

Unit under passenger seat
Not at all Dave. Tips, Get it the under seal done. (matter or urgency) Then full Service, Cambelt, Water Pump. Check out the brake lines as they degrade over time and have your mechanic flush the lines to get rid of air as it's shipped without any oil, fluid etc in it.

Unit under passenger seat
Depends on your unit. I've got the HN3t-W55 and its only in Japanese and locked. Most of them is locked but you can replace with other units which run android/windows and run maps from app's instead. We've left ours in as taking it out caused a fatal error in the ECU and the car wouldn't start. putting it back and started right away. So all depends on your model. Ebay have a few disc's.

Key shell/cut
I would say the immobiliser chip lost power or its not close enough to the barrell of the ignition.

Toyota Alphard DBA-GGH20W 2008
if you've got another head unit installed then be careful as sometimes they throw an error up on the ECU when removed.

Dashcam Mod
Hi Everyone, I had a few bits for my raspberry Pi lying around so thought i would build my own dashcam. So after many days or reading and coding i've got a really smart dashcam. Records using HD input from a microsoft web cam. I will make a little how to and post below on how to make one. Total cost for me is £10 (the Clock cip + rear camera using pi camera v2) The mod's are easy to do and anyone with a little computer experience can do it.

Unit under passenger seat

Anyone know why these Alphards end up at auction for sale in Japan
Sure speak to this guy. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=538931818&ref=br_rs He can source all parts for the alphard. Changing the belt is a doddle for the garage tell them its the same engine as the Lexus rs300 and they will know what to do. The struggle may be the bolts holding the water pump in as they can snap off easy.
