  1. whats wrong?
  2. yeah, i think i'm just doing it wrong tbh. not had time latley to try again
  3. very long winded. I bought a book on my alphard but still cant get the motion locking to kick in
  4. if its the original head unit you can't as these are made for japanese market only and therefore no english option. I use google translate on my phone to figure out everything. otherwise its a new head unit.
  5. Have you tried contacting toyota? as sometimes it is the same parts across many vehicles. Or even a breakers yard.
  6. Thule do them. i would strongly suggest calling your local thule distributor and asking.
  7. Like any hybrid that batteries do not last forever. However some people have trouble because diagnostic's are a nightmare when it comes to hybrids. I've got a 3L petrol and very happy with it.
  8. Might be worth checking which ones it fits as there are other vehicles that might also have the same backbox. they tend to use the same exhaust for several vehicles. try looking at the heliux and see if that fits.
  9. Toyota can order them in
  10. Best way is to take it to a dvla testing station and get them todo the emissions. (Make sure you take it for a long drive first to clear any grim from the system)...
  11. Then unlock with the key manually, climb in the back and unlock the door lock by hand and open.
  12. Hi Darren, Check the parts lookup url's we have in servicing section. I would check there. To be honest i'd order from toyota direct or ask "Ben Hau" who's on here.
  13. We've got a 3L, about 300 miles ish to a tank of fuel driving around town. long trips maybe an extra 50 miles or so.
  14. on our 3L we get between 14mpg to 30mpg depending on how i drive and if its town driving/motorway (motorway better mpg)
  15. it would leave metal bare and not really be safe. plus looks awful. someone took the skirting off and they said they kept cutting their shins.
  16. Pioneer and Xtrons yes. with a bit of fidling. i.e. swapping wires around o nthe back of the unit untill they do the job. or you can find a cambus to translate the signals.
  17. you can with the right equipment. there are cam bus units to use the theatre. im sure there is someone here who can point you in the right direction.
  18. rare to hear of ecu issues but i've never worked on a hybrid before so not sure.
  19. normally in the roof by the front cab light. sometimes they disconnect it from the back of the radio
  20. i dont im afriad.. is there any others you can test on? someone near by?
  21. They do remove it when they close the roof.
  22. The error code is "P1346 TOYOTA - Variable Valve Timing Sensor Bank 1 Range/Performance Problem" I would suggest checking the wiring make sure the plugs are working. "Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor (VVT signal) consist of a signal plate and pickup coil. The VVT signal plate has 1 tooth on its outer circumference and is mounted on the intake camshafts. When the camshafts rotate, the protrusion on the signal plate and the air gap on the pickup coil change, causing fluctuations in the magnetic field and generating an electromotive force in the pickup coil. The actual camshaft angle is detected by the VVT sensor and it provides feedback to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to control the intake valve timing in response to during condition Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p1346_toyota.html#targetText=P1346%20Toyota%20Description,signal%20plate%20and%20pickup%20coil.&targetText=The%20actual%20camshaft%20angle%20is,in%20response%20to%20during%20condition." Have a read and if you have a multimeter check the ohms/resistence to make sure its the same as the others inputs.
  23. disk changer if you have one is above the glove box in the top compartment. Changing the head unit can be an issue it's best to find one you like and buy a loom to convert the leads. Most people go for xtron's, pumpkin, pinoeer. found one but check as there are many options too many to list. https://www.incarmusic.co.uk/6-2-hd-touch-screen-bluetooth-satnav-car-dvd-player-usb-aux-stereo-for-toyota.html
  24. if its factory fitted then yes.
  25. its does for the 3L at least that what i can see, the RX300 engine is the same for my alphard. https://www.valvomax.com Shipping is $23 and the part is $35 so not bad.
