  1. In Japan there are two main distributors. For product differentiation; they tend to fit different body panels and trim. Having said that, there are aftermarket panels available. The same is true for Alphards too.
  2. Hi Adam, I don't need tyres yet, but will probably fit extra load versions when I do.
  3. Hello Peter, Welcome to the Forum, There are a couple of points that may your affect decision process. Firstly, if you are buying from a business you will pay VAT, 20%. You are unlikely to recover this. As Alphatds, and Vellfires, are Japanese Imports most, but not all, official Toyota Dealers will not work on them or supply parts!.. Consequently, it is wise to ensure that you have someone competent, if not yourself, to maintain it. Getting an MOT will not be a problem, as any MOT station will be able to do that. I have an 2006 MZ G Edition Alphie and feel sure it will last longer than I. I paid a lot less than your budget and had a very classy conversion for a lot less too. I don't have a pop top, but they will add a significant cost if yours has one. Also, beware the height gain as that can prevent access to many car parks. Have it checked thoroughly by the RAC or AA prior to purchase. I hope this doesn't put you off Alphie ownership as it is very comfortable motoring.
  4. Hello Sue, Welcome to the Alphard Forum. Happy Alpharding.
  5. SO. have you read the threads on this topic in this Forum ? However, depending on the various opinions of the members there seems to be no definite answer.
  6. Hello Rex., Welcome to the Forum. It is probably and air filter/ cleaner/ purifier; fitted aftermarket.
  7. Hello Sheldon, Have you tried searching the Forum. This was in a recent thread.
  8. Hello Bob, Welcome to the Forum. Try searching this Forum. There is a thread that contains the part numbers for some of the serviceable parts. The info may be in a Megathread. The search box is on your home page; top rhs.
  9. Hi Barry, Make sure your battery is fully charged, and I mean fully. These cold mornings are battery charge killers
  10. No, sorry, I only have experience of reading threads on this forum ! As I said, it is a hassle, and some owners just give up I put your registration into TfL ULEZ checker and, unfortunately, the vehicle is chargeable.
  11. Hello William, Welcome to the Forum. I agree with Paul above; but I do have a vague recollection that Aphards up to 2005 aren't in the system. And getting yours certified by having it tested, and then recognised (or not) by DVLA, is quite a hassle. I hope I am wrong. Other members who have been through this process will advise you, I am sure.
  12. Hello Peter, Greetings from South Devon Yes, I do. You need to send me a personal message. Set out clearly what you are looking for.
  13. I can tell you the standard nut size for standard studs. But since you have changed your wheels they may not be suitable; and that could be dangerous. Some details about the wheels would be helpful !
  14. Hello peter, Welcome to the Forum
  15. I think it is quite easy but, Programming it isn't. There is a recent thread on here, try searching from your home page. May be worth trying a new smart fob battery before buying a new fob
  16. try searching the Forum. This was a recent topic. Search box if top rhs on your home page.
  17. As far as I can remember, the smart key key should work the front doors; the immobiliser key won't. I believe you can set the smart key (if you want to) to unlock the doors as you approach the vehicle without activating any smart key buttons. The immobiliser key is a mechanical key only; although it will open the sliding doors if they are electric.
  18. Which key did you replace ? The smart key of the immobiliser key ?
  19. Make sure the bicarb is fully dissolved.
  20. Thanks for this Chad. I took a quick look, and it's a subscription service; which is not for me. I would prefer a physical book, or a non time limited download for my PC. If I had an issue and needed technical help it might be a good choice. Lee, has been pursuing JPNZ now, for quite a while, to make available the official JPNZ Maintenance Manual for the Alphard but in English. As soon as it is available he and/or I will advise the Club Membership of it's price and availability.
  21. Hi Chad, No, it isn't; but looks very interesting. Can you post a link please ? Thanks
  22. Hi Chad, This should be in the Buy and Sell section, please.
  23. Have you considered a V6 ? Some owners find the 4 cylinder a little underpowered. I have a Gen 1, so cannot really advise on the Gen 2. Give it a day or so, I'm sure you'll get opinions from 2.4 owners.
  24. The Owners Manual is available on ebay for about 25 pounds. There is also a version that has a section on the Hybrid versions. The owners Manual is NOT a maintenance manual; but still should be in every owners possession. I have not seen the Service Schedule before, and should be an interesting read. I suspect it is a when, not how, publication. Perhaps, Chad, you can confirm this (or otherwise). If it is a proper maintenance manual it will be extremely popular.
  25. Hello Ken, I don't have the Theatre System fitted, but do have the same head unit as you. There are several controls to allow tinkering with the spatial balance etc. eigthseater.blog.com is very good site, in English, for your HDD system, but maybe less so for the theatre part. I hope you find it helpful.
