  1. Try Toyotaalphardepc.com, as Amayama will have them. Or email Toyota Direct in the UK.
  2. Hello Mary, Welcome to the Forum
  3. Hello Paul, Welcome to the Forum.
  4. Petrol or diesel power ? Should do it, but not 2kw. The key to your success is very low consumption appliances and, probably a twin leisure battery set up. Good Luck
  5. Hi Jack, Welcome to the Forum There is a very limited market for these; as anyone having a conversion will have seats to spare ! As they are durable there isn't much call for them. Some photo may help you sell. Good Luck
  6. Hello Angela, Welcome to the Forum. Sorry to disappoint you, imho, but it is an MPV; Multi Purpose Vehicle. I would say a van; a converted one at that. Many insurers will not insure converted Alphies. I feel sure I read recently, in this Forum, that Admiral (a Canadian company I think) will. There is a long thread in the Forum regarding Insurance, try using the search box 'Insurance Companies'. Good Luck.
  7. Hello Zane, Welcome to the Forum
  8. Hello Nigel, Clearly your problem is not while towing then. However, I would expect towing to compress rear end bushings and probably make matters worse. I do not know whether Alphards were designed for towing. However, many members have fitted tow bars. Hopefully Richard's solution will work for you too. Good Luck.
  9. A 2kw load will kill your leisure battery extremely quickly. With a 100Amp/ Hr leisure battery, your battery will last 36 minutes, FULLY discharged. So the load is pulling 2000/12 Amps; nearly 170 Amps ! You need very good wiring for that ! I have read that discharging batteries beyond 50% is very harmful to the battery As Martyn says, you are going to struggle to achieve your aims safely. Try looking for a 200 watt solution. 12V micros exist but most micros (the magnetron) are quite inefficient so you will need to allow for that too.
  10. Hello Di, Welcome to the Forum.
  11. Hi Teekay, Is it a common problem ? This is the first time I have come across it. I don't know of any part, but, from your photo, it does not appear too difficult to make a bracket to attach to the cross-headed fastening (if it is safe to remove that). Care would need to taken in tapping the standoffs numbered 2.
  12. Hi Teekay, Below are my opinions. Personally, I have never used summer / winter tyres; or the all 'season tyres'. As a Southerner I don't feel the need, and as a retiree I don't drive in adverse conditions. If I were a Northerner, north of Liverpool / Manchester / Leeds I would certainly consider it. My Alphie does not need new tyres yet, but I will consider XL versions when she does. If you fit lower specification tyres than those specified your insurance company may not be sympathetic if you have an accident. I would not lower the load rating, but, as above, would consider increasing it. (I have a rear conversion). If I were towing I would certainly increase the load rating. For anyone travelling into Europe research the tyre requirements carefully. In many areas winter tyres are mandatory in winter. I do not know what the European definition is for Winter; whether it is seasonal, conditional or geographic. I have to say, prior to Brexit. I was once approaching Madrid in April and wished I did have snow tyres fitted !
  13. Hi Nigel, Hi Richard, Just to be clear, are you experiencing these noises when NOT towing ? Did you have all the bushes in the rear end renewed at the time of the modifications ?
  14. I have found mine. Photo tomorrow.
  15. Hello John, Manuals for the Gen 1 machines are available on Ebay. They are published by JPNZ, and are Owners Manuals. They are NOT maintenance manuals. In my opinion, every owner should have one. If you have the HDD head unit go to eightseater.blog.com which is in English
  16. Sorry, I saw 2006 and assumed you have a facelift. I need better reading skills. Even so, the key you have does not appear in the JPNZ Owners Manual. What does the face of the key look like ?
  17. Hello Steven, Welcome to the Forum.
  18. Hello Martin, Welcome to the Forum. I don't have a 2006 2.4L, but I do have the 2006 3L. Your keys look nothing like mine, nor do they look like anything those in the Owners Handbook I have (JPNZ). Are you sure they are the correct keys. I believed the facelifted version uses the 4D67 chip embedded in the key blank. Even when correctly cut , without that 4D67 chip it won't start the car. Hopefully, someone else has the same keys as you, and can help you.#Good Luck.
  19. Hello Greg, I think rear axle bushes are quite common problem on newly imported Alphies.
  20. Hello Greg, Welcome to the Forum.
  21. So sorry to hear you both have Covid. Thanks for letting us all know. Hopefully you didn't catch it at the Museum
  22. Welcome to the Forum. You will need to put on of the rear sets up to the side to create enough room for a dog cage. There is a dealer near Newquay where you could probably view various models. I will send you a PM.
  23. Hello John, I am not knowledgeable about the use of foam. However, my main concern would be getting to a place of safety. Tyres are not that expensive, and not all punctures can be repaired by the rubber plug method. I would be concerned about the cost of damaging my alloy wheel, rather than the cost of a tyre. That said, tyres are best renewed in pairs. More research required, I think ! Good luck whatever you decide.
