Rear video screen operation
You have the system that is featured by eightseaterblog.com. Did you check it out. You do have a HDD system. Check it out; it's in English and an invaluable source of information. If the HDD is full, eightseater explains how to clear some space, ie. delete material.

H20 content: Has anyone used this aftermarket radio adapter?
Is your van Gen 1 facelift, or a Gen 2 ? I assume a Gen 2.

Central Locking not working..
Hi Nick, I guess Chris and I are both disappointed you haven't found the problem yet. Regarding the rear hatch. Go to Youtube and check out Cuttothechase. I seem to remember ( ???) he did a video on this rear hatch problem. Don't worry about not paying for help. As soon you as you get this sorted Chris and I will send you a bill !

Have you checked fuse 3 in the small fuse box in the engine bay ?

Rear video screen operation
A photo of the screen would help. Do you have the Home Theatre System ? If you have an HDD drive, CDs will record automatically (until the drive is full). Can you play HDD tracks that you have not loaded ? Existing tracks can be deleted. Try eightseaterblog.com. There is a very good narrative for a common headunit, and it's in English. It provides comprehensive instructions on how to use that particular system. It may be the same as yours. Take a look.

Central Locking not working..
Dome light normally refers to the light that comes on when you open a door. In your case, it's probably the lights by the rear view mirror. Are they working correctly ?

Audio Head Unit replacement
Hello S W, Welcome to the Forum. Depending on which head unit you have, it also supports DVDs, a HDD (that records your CDs) and front and rear cameras. A radio frequency expender can be purchased for abou t£20 (a diy fitment) which will restore your radio to most UK channels. When you make your upgrade make sure you don't lose any of those features unless you don't need them. Ben Hau in Birmingham can provide a very significant Android upgrade. Good Luck.

Front camera
The 'front' camera, if you have one looks sideways and downwards. Not straight ahead. Great for 'Peep and Creep', and 'seeing how close you are at the front when parking. It isn't a dashcam!

Engine Light
The diagnostic programs in your engine management computer are not 'happy' about one, or more, parameters your engine is experiencing. You really need to have someone diagnose this engine light. It could be serious, but might not be. You could be risking a breakdown, serious or otherwise. Don't ignore it.

Central Locking not working..
Hi Nick, I'm glad you are making progress. I had wondered whether 'little fingers' had set the Child Locks ! Looking at your Toyota key, I think a new one might help. (I was given one of these at sale. What I did not know was there was no electronics in it). Sneaky. Buyer beware and all that. I bought two replacement keys off ebay. About £15 each; but £65 (each) to get them programmed. Make sure you get the correct frequency. I'll look it up if you need it. It is not the same as most UK cars. Worth it though. I now have several keys, spares, spares and spares ! It is not unknown for the cable to need replacing. Check on here (somewhere) or on YouTube. I have an electric tailgate with a switch on the dash, lower left of steering wheel. I don't know if this is fitted only on electric tailgates. The smart fobs (not the type you have) also have a tailgate switch.

Central Locking not working..
Hello Nick, Welcome to the Forum. As you have disconnected your battery, you will probably need to reset your drivers window switch pad. Easy to do. Page 33, I think (I have the other manual; page numbering may be different, hope not). Your moon roof may need resetting also. Regarding the doors; I need to read up on this. I believe there is a door lock setting somewhere that controls various options on door locking. Have you got a photo of your key. I have a smart key. If I walk away from the car it will lock the slide doors, and I have to unlock the vehicle (again) with the smart key then pull the door handles. Try reading up on the door locks, I'll do the same

Disaster!
So sorry this is the result. Some structural damage can be repaired. Insurance companies, understandably look at total cost, including hire cars, etc, if you are entitled to one. Did you have Snows take a look. Either way, you are faced with delays to your plans. Please let us all know, and photos please, of when you get your 'new' van.

Removing the ETC System
Is the ETC wiring through the ignition switch ? I cannot see the sense in it being live 24/7.

2002 Alphard - 3.0 V6 Engine swap
Hello Derek, Welcome to the Forum, Sorry, but buy another vehicle or find out EXACTLY what is wrong with the current engine. A repair may be a better bet. Living where you do (I once lived in Perranuthnoe) you will need to consider how to get any 'new' engine to PZ too Unless you are a mechanic, contact your local Toyota Dealer, not to have them fix it, but to ensure they will work on it if required. Many, but not all, Toyota Dealers will not work on grey imports. There is a company in Bodmin that will work on engines. Good Luck

Cambelt Replacement
Good morning, It's a bit of a shock to me too. I was quoted just under £600, inc VAT, for the belt and water pump. Probably not for all the of the other bits and pieces that your dealer seems to want to fit. My quote was from an Official Toyota Dealer, which was happy to do the work. Perhaps your dealer doesn't want your business.

Charging flat battery
It is easy to do. Let us all know if the RAC fix it. If not we'll tell you how to do it.

Charging flat battery
That negative terminal needs a clean, soft wire brush (while the battery is out) and be gently. Don't be surprised if your door windows won't work from the drivers door. This normal after a battery disconnect. Moon roof too, if you have one. Don't worry, there is an easy process to restore proper functionality.
